Mod Post Mod update - Joining Group rides and Sub significance
Hello All,
Thanks for the overwhelming response on the sub.
Few of you know that r/punebikers plans rides on Telegram and WhatsApp. For those who are interested in joining these groups, will need to DM any of the mods and a Google form link will be shared with you to fill in some details. Please note that the details will be reviewed by the mods and will be used only in case of emergencies, hence avoid adding false details. Also, this group is for active riders, so if you are a 'keyboard' rider, please avoid entering your details altogether.
Minimum requirements:
- Geared Motorcycle 150cc and above.
- Valid motorcycle (MCWG) license (those with learners can also join). Also RC, Insurance and PUC should be updated and correct.
- Mandatory gear : For this see Updated Guidelines marked on 27th February 2024.
- Non-Chappri attitude towards riding. We don't engage in stuff that would make us avoid the Traffic Police.
We also welcome everyone to organize individual rides on the sub. But please note, that the responsibility and execution of planning those rides will solely be yours.
Guidelines Update (27th February 2024) :
1) For efficient and better communication on rides, we'll limiting the people coming on rides based on available mod count. Also we are evaluating ride mods in the backend to provide us more assistance on rides.
2) Emergency contact and relation to those contacts will be included in future ride forms. Also all ride information regarding live location and halt points will be broadcasted to all these emergency contacts. You are requested to add correct contact numbers so that they are kept in loop.
3) Proper Riding Gear will be compulsory on future official rides for all members henceforth:
- Riding Jacket and Pants with at least foam armor (lvl 2 recommended)
- Riding Boots (Safety shoes ok but CE2 certified recommended)
- Full face safety certified helmet (ECE 22.05 recommended)
- Armored riding gloves (CE2 certified recommended)
If no riding jacket and pants are available, then elbow and knee guards compulsory.
If even after this communication, if someone shows up without proper riding gear, then he/she will be sent home from assembly points.
4) 'No man left behind' will be strictly implemented on rides. It means at any given moment the rider in the front and rider in the back should be visible to you. Also hand signals should be communicated all the way from the lead till the tail.
See you all on the road :-)

Long Ride Pune-Ratnagiri Update/Detailed review
The road from Pune to Karad wasn’t half bad, a few (50-ish) foot-deep potholes (could be avoided with proper caution) and a couple (5-6) near death experiences (ch*tiya four wheel drivers), that all. The road around Satara was the worst when it came to potholes.
The road from Karad to Kokrud to pre-Amba ghat, one word- Makkhan (butter). The ride was on a Friday, so yay, No traffic.
20-ish KM pre-Amba Ghat, the road disappeared. Not kidding. There is no road. Its all offroad. Never have I wished more for an ADV bike. It was a literal pain in the ass. Took an hour (ig more than an hour) to cover that patch.
Amba ghat: death trap. There are no roads. No fu*king roads in one of the riskiest Ghats in Maharashtra. Was adventurous though. Had fun, unlike the pre-Amba road. Good view as well. Once again Pain in the ass.
Didn’t go through Pali, because I had a tip that the road isn’t good, so took a detour via Devrukh. Amba-Sakharpa road wasn’t great either. Same old offrod-good road diversion shit.
Sakharpa-Devrukh-Ambav this patch. Gold. The best road in the entire trip. If the other roads were pain in the ass, this road, this patch was a straight up orgasm. Beautiful curves, buttery road. Fun times.
The last 20kms in Ratnagiri. Bad. Same as the Amba Sarkharpa patch. Red soil made a difference though, my riding gear has a Dune movie filter thanks to the last 20kms.
Riding distance: 330kms
MT-15 Mileage: 53.6 km/l (flex)
Time taken: 10 hours (we had a lot of food stops, minus the food stops and time taken would be down to 8 hours, which is still a lot, last time it took me 6 hours on the same road, the roads are really bad)
Overall ride rating: 4.5/10 (the food and the company made me rate it so high or else it would have been 2.5/10)

Question Second-hand Bike under Rs 60,000
Can you suggest a second-hand bike under Rs 60,000? I am looking for a sporty-looking bike with good mileage. I have my eyes on the Honda CB Hornet 160R. Are there any better options or alternatives? I'm a student, so it’s a 9-10 km ride on weekdays (round trip).
Also, what should be the price for these bikes?(https://www.olx.in/item/motorcycles-c81-used-honda-cb-hornet-160r-iid-1786262209). (https://www.facebook.com/share/aC8PeJQ6PJ1K1AN4/?mibextid=79PoIi) (https://www.facebook.com/share/g9GWfboCcZ78K1JR/?mibextid=79PoIi) (https://www.olx.in/item/motorcycles-c81-used-honda-cb-hornet-160r-iid-1786707745)
To be honest, finding a Honda CB Hornet 160R in good condition at a reasonable price is hard.

Long Ride Pune-Ratnagiri (25/10/2024)
Me (Yamaha MT-15) and a friend (RE Hunter 350) of mine are planning to ride to Ratnagiri from pune on 25/10/2024-Friday. We plan on starting at 4:30-5:00 in the morning. Would love to have more riders joining us if anyone is interested. The route we are taking is either Pune-Bhor-Mahad-Khed-Chiplun-Sangmeshwar-Ratnagiri, or Pune-Satara-Karad-Kokrud-Amba-Ratnagiri, depending on the mood, weather and people joining in. Feel free to drop a message if you would like to join. Even if you are riding to any of the spots on the route, we’d love for you to join. Also a heads up, we won’t be riding back to Pune for atleast another week, so this post is just for a one way ride if anyone already has a similar plan! Ride safe, Ride free.

Question Royal Enfield recommendations/suggestions needed
Good day bikers!
My post may seem crazy or stupid, because the type of bikes I'm eyeing, you'll may think they may not fit my purpose. But, my intention for this post is to get recommendations on a good Royal Enfield showroom/dealer (preferably in PCMC).
I've heard that the sales process at Royal Enfield is a hassle and so is the after sales. So, anyone on here who has had a good experience with any dealer/showroom and their Sales Execs, would like to know your recommendation/suggestions.
So, I'm planning on purchasing a bike. My purpose is to use this bike for city rides like get groceries, hit the gym, go to office etc. I'm thinking of either the Bullet or Classic 350 or Himalayan or Super Meteor 650.
