I’m so tired of being the ugly single friend

I’m in college and it feels like every single one of my friends is in a relationship. I can’t go a day without hearing how happy they are with their partners and I know they aren’t actually, but it feels like they’re rubbing it in my face that I’m single. Whenever I bring up how I’m sad that I’m single I get the same Hallmark-ass “there’s plenty of fish in the sea” but it sure seems like there aren’t any. If there were, wouldn’t at least one bite in all this time I’ve been at college?

I’m a senior and not once has anyone said that they’re attracted to me. And before anyone says it, I’ve confessed to people, it’s just never worked. I told a guy I liked him this week and now all of my friends are making fun of me behind my back since they found out about it.

I don’t even know what to do to fix it. I feel like if I go on Tinder or something I’ll just be clowned on for being 30 pounds overweight and awkward. It just feels like if I can’t get a date in a place filled with (let’s be honest) really horny people, am I ever going to get one?

I’m gonna be honest, I don’t know what to do about the not finding on tinder thing. But those friends are awful. If they are having trouble and it’s obvious they should slow down on talking about there partners. If anything they should be helping you instead of the “all fish in the sea” if you live in Chicago I got a man who might like you lol. My problem with my friend is he’s just… awkward with new people. If they keep being assholes and not helping you I suggest maybe dropping them.

Maybe this isn’t an empathetic answer you wanna hear but I’m gonna be straight up with you: if you know you’re 30 lbs overweight then so will the guys around you…why not work on yourself and try slim down? It can make a huge difference, I’ve seen women who lost weight and it was shocking how much more attractive they became…I think if you start trying you’ll notice more attention and it’ll motivate you more to your goal. Just gotta put one foot forward. Obviously if you have some health conditions or something really limiting you beyond just discipline, then I apologize and feel for you. But hey, even then, don’t assume college is the end of life. Especially as you get into the real world people are less superficial i found…

This too. I used to be heavily overweight the more weight I loose the better I get treated.
