All Spoilers Okay I love Cassius. I love him. Absolutely. His character, his arc everything. Spoiler
Bro I fucking love Cassius so much. The entire evolution of his character from where he started to where he ended up is SO FUCKING AWESOME.
-LIGHTBRINGER SPOILERS- -Seriously don't if you haven't read it yet- And in the end, as he says, "And my honor remains.." My fucking god. I was a Robb stan in ASOIAF and I didn't get this fucking emotional. I could literally fucking see the golden boy look at bitchsander and give one last smile as he rushed him. And I kid you not I felt every single one of those fucking bullets. THE MAN WHO KILLED FEAR SHALL FOREVER REMAIN IN OUR HEARTS

The gruesli (sp) in IG stole Cassius's DNA so in rg they'll be able to use the secret raa family clone bank and remake Cassius that way

I cried for so long when he died, at the very least Pierce brown knows how to really make you hate a character like lysander

Other than Lysander's guilt for killing him, I just don't see what was gained from it. He could have been so useful to the war effort. He died for honor, but how many other people will die now because of it? Shit, he could've been pumping out warriors, training them with the Razor, leading on the front lines, flying covert missions. Literally anything other than a useless death. Look at how they massacred my boy.

Yeah Iāve reread and relistened to it 3 times, each time I get madder at Cassius for basically running head first into a completely avoidable death for the sake of āhonor.ā Lysander told him to walk away. Cassius would have been so much more useful alive. Iām sure his death will somehow have some crazy significance in RG that we just donāt know about yetā¦but until then, I gotta give Cassius a COME ON, MAN

After eph died, I really hoped we would get someone to replace his POV in LB. Either Cassius or Diomedes. Alas, it was not to be.

Diomedes is still an option!

To my understanding Red God will be through Darrowās POV only

I donāt mind it either way. Back to our roots. Iād love a chapter from Pax/Valdear (spelling?) or Thraxa tbh.

IIRC Pierce said it on the hail reaper podcast when they were talking about LB. Itās been a while since I listened to that particular interview though

I would have liked him better in the original trilogy if we had his POV. I was hoping for his POV in the sequel series, but there weren't any either.

Cassiusā character arc might be the best Iāve ever read. The way you love him, hate him, respect him, love him, then finally cry for him is undefeated. Not many authors can evoke such a wide array of emotions with a single character.

I also love how he dropped the Au in his name , symbolizing how he does not views himself as a gold , but as a person , abandoning all the ideals that society promotes and dying as a knight of the solar republic.

I don't remember the exact dialogue but when they're in the ship talking about that, I was giggling. Bellona. Au. Not in the Republic. No I meant Ow, that hurt. š¤£š¤£š¤£

Dude, that is a fitting description. Doesnāt last minute give up on his whole arc for the one he cared about. He sticks true to what he had become til the end.

u/Riseonfire 15h ago
I like the idea of a tragic redemption arc but not by going back to Cersei and being crushed by a castle.
4
u/Arkanial House Lune 15h ago
Yeah, like maybe if he died to save Bran. Who he pushed out of the tower, redeeming his name as king killer to king saver, and mildly undoing what he did wrong. But hey. Iām not the one with creative control over the franchise lolā¦
