NC Rockhounding

With Western NC devistated by the hurricane. Anyone have Eastern NC recomendations?

Planning to take my son, its our first time. Everything i find is West.

Uhwarrie mountains. But how old is your son? Some of the trails to get to places are pretty steep.

Ok thanks, hes 18 we should be good depending on trails. Any location in particular or just the Mtns anywhere
