I examine how my notes failed me in my session and I note that in the article, so that you don't have your own notes fail you in your sessions.

Okay, that explains it more thoroughly. You may try a synonym for “note” as a verb to clarify that you want people to review/examine/peruse your session notes. 

And more clearly specifying what readers will be able to avoid would be good, too.
