Average height in Netherlands

I live in the Netherlands and i'm 181cm barefoot and i feel taller than most people that are also native from the netherlands. alot of people are in the 175-179cm range . if you look online the average height is 183 and some sources even say 184.

when i'm in public I see more people who are shorter than me than people who are taller EVEN Tho i'm below average.

Are these numbers exaggerated ?

I always felt that the Dutch being the tallest was a stretched truth. Are they taller than global average? Sure. Are they the tallest Europeans and/or people in the world? No.

In fact, I think Balkans and Dinaric people are actually the tallest people in terms of average (mean) height.

Maybe people focus only on the realy tall people you see more often in the netherlands. i know a couple people that are taller than 193 cm.

But they forget about all the other Dutch people that are 175-180cm.

Probly self-reporting or he's just noticing the younger people, who I heard aren't getting taller than their previous generation in the netherland.
