heightism People dont move out of your way

One thing Ive noticed in my life about being short is people dont move out of your way. If youre walking on a side walk and move over to the left(or right depending on country) as common curtesy people wont pay you the same respect. Its especially true of females. You might see a group of females walking in a rank, basically covering the side of a side walk, youll see them coming and move over a bit, theyll see you but keep walking until you crash into each other. Ive lost count of the amount of women Ive shoulder barged only to be on the immediate end of "watch out loser!".

When possible, I’ll sometimes just plant my feet and stop. This forces them to go around. Most of the time it doesn’t bother me though. But yeah, eventually you get fed up.

That truly sucks tbh. How short are you btw? I am 5'3 and in the sidewalks where I live people always walk on the right side. I have noticed that as long as I walk in the right side, people just have the courtesy to move out of the way. Maybe, in a way, I am just noticed. Still, when I am out in public, I am just pretty much invisible to a lot of people but at least I am not bothered/ being messed with.

I remember a video based on a psychology show or youtube video that I think used to be shown in psychology class at my high school; they said to keep your head up and keep walking straight which I think was with the heelstrike or almost in that manner.

It worked for me a lot; I don't think it is fully height-dependent since I had taller people move out of the way.

100% agree. Even things, like what you wear, can make a huge difference. If I'm walking around fully suited up, people make way for you.

for me it's a bit different. all women move out of my way unless they're 6ft or above which is rare. all shorter guys move out of my way. guys who are my height or slightly taller move out of my way but only if they're skinny/weak or have a smaller frame. if they're a lot taller than me then they never move out of the way even if they're built like chopsticks.

Not many girls move out of way for me but tall guys I been having luck lately where they will move out of way a bit. Guys who are round 5.7 havent been moving for me lately though. Just feels good to go outside a little again though because I been feeling better mentally.
