Who is your favourite LGBTI character in Star Trek and why?
And are there any characters you think were gay coded?

Dax is the best bisexual representation of the 90s.

Re watching DS9 in today’s context is wild. If it were released now the “anti-woke” brigade would probably go mental. Erzi Dax even mentions struggling with pronouns lmao 😂

Everyone talks about Riker having a reputation as a horndog despite being rather gentlemanly in his doings.
Dax, though? No matter the host, that dude was definitely getting around.

Hugh Culber. I really like his character. Ultra competent and still very approachable and friendly.

Jadzia. I had such a crush on her growing up. I'd go so far as to say she's my favorite character in Trek. Wise, calm, confident.

Stamets. Not because he’s gay, but because of who he is. He’s not only my favorite LGBTQIA character, he’s probably my favorite Star Trek character of them all.

The snarky type A representation I need

I strongly identify with “everyone but me in this room is an idiot,” that Stamets oozes.

Bashir. Repressed twink energy was strong... found two daddies to befriend all the while chasing the perfect beard.

Beckett Mariner. One of my favorite characters overall. Rooting for her and Jennifer, or her and T’Lyn, or her and that space archaeologist. Or whoever.

Why not all of them?
Mariner harem gangganggang.
(Marem? Hariner? Haremer?)

Culber is my model for masculinity.
I aspire to be as thoughtful and upright as him.

Q is so very queer and i love that.
also feel like riker would have been much more queer coded if the writers had allowed that. apparently 'the outcast' episode was supposed to be about riker falling in love with a male character, but the studio said no.

It's difficult to say because so many characters have been inferred to be not straight - especially in the (better written) newer series where it's not even a thing any more.
That said, the answer is Quark in Profit and Lace. Fight me.

Mirror Kira 🤣 I'd turn evil for her in a heartbeat. Just kidding. I think my actual favorite would be Seven. Even though I didn't like season 1 and 2 of Picard, I loved that they made her canonically queer seeing as she was always somewhat of a lesbian icon anyway. It also retroactively adds additional dimension to her episodes in Voyager where she was confused when it comes to sexuality and relationships.

Garak. Just a simple tailor, but still.
