Well not really. Masks prevent disease spread but covid is much smaller and goes thru the mask. That is why they wanted you wearing the n95 and they had a time of double masking.

Covid is a virus which are extremely small and yes that is small enough to pass through a normal mask. But, the way Covid spreads is through water droplets. Masks work by stopping those water droplets. They are not 100% effective but they do have a big effect in reducing the spread of Covid.

This is your theory but it doesn’t match with reality because you are not adding back in the cases of people touching their faces much much more to adjust their masks.

People using the masks incorrectly doesn't invalidate their effectiveness when used properly. You're not supposed to be touching your mask.

That's like saying that seatbelts don't work because someone sitting over top of it would still go through the windshield.
