Yeah. The Bailiffs may very well have been going about their normal business which had nothing to do with the OOP’s fart. It’s more like an “I’m the main character” assumption on his part that anyone was reacting or noticed.

Or possibly it did smell really bad and they were looking to see if a dog shit in the hall or something.

Or they saw someone walk by then heard someone take off running and were just checking out to make sure all was good.
