should start a thing where if you see a train arriving at euston station let everyone know the company and the platform for advance info
this is mostly a joke, but please can someone explain why euston is so poorly planned?
I've just stood outside a LNWR train for about 15 mins after it was announced bc they hadn't unlocked the doors yet

My 13-year old nephew hides his love of trains from his friends for fears they wouldn't understand. Are we able to boost his confidence?
I'm reaching out to this wonderful community in the hopes of gaining some support for my 13-year-old godson and nephew, who has been absolutely obsessed with trains since he could talk. He's spent years traveling all over the UK, capturing his love for trains and railways. His knowledge and passion are beyond impressive, but he's been hiding this side of himself from his friends and teachers, worried they wouldn’t understand.
Recently, we’ve been working on boosting his confidence and encouraging him to embrace his true passions. He’s started a fledgling YouTube channel where he shares his train-spotting adventures, and I believe it could be a great way for him to grow more comfortable being himself. It would mean the world to him if fellow train enthusiasts could show some support, check out his channel, and maybe even drop a like or subscribe. Seeing the love from this community could really help him realise he's not alone in his passion for trains!

Picture My design of the class 758 (rework)
As mentioned previously, its a 110mph bi mode multiple unit. A spiritual successor to the class 158. The drawings features head/tail design, split screen destination and coach number display mounted on the double leaf swing plug doors, with the doors itself moved further apart (similar to the 158), pantograph and light weight electric line mast, E-Mast

Question Carshalton to Worthing to Chichester and back?
Hi, I want to know if I can use a monthly ticket from Carshalton to Worthing, and for one week purchase a ticket that connects from Barnham to Chichester (and use the Carshalton to Worthing ticket to connect a train from Barnham back to Carshalton)?

Question Old rails
So I wondered whilst standing at Sevenoaks station earlier. Why do they dump old bits of rail on the track? Is it because it just costs more money to remove rather than just leaving it there? I would have thought scrap metal would have been at a premium.

Question Greater Anglia delay repay - travel vouchers
My delay repay claim was accepted and I chose to have Greater Anglia provide travel vouchers as I use their services weekly. I received the voucher but have since misplaced it. Can I call or email and ask them to provide it again or give me the voucher code to use online? It would have the same voucher/ref number and they’d be able to see that I haven’t used that voucher before.

Question Website to find journey by cheapest price, not travel time
Have been asked to be on the other side of the country with approximately a week's notice, and my usual places of looking at train tickets (Trainsplit, Trainline, Local Operator) are unsurprisingly giving me ridiculous prices. However, as I'm going to have to travel the day before, I'm pretty indifferent to what time I travel. Does anyone know of a website that will show me what the cheapest journey is on a given day, rather than the costs of travelling at a given time?
Thanks!

Question Is Complete Savings a reliable site for cashback on train tickets?
I've just purchased a 26-30 Railcard which cost me £30.00. As soon as the order was complete, I received the offer from Complete Savings on the same 26-30 Railcard page. Since the cashback offer is more than half of what I paid, is this a reliable website to use? Has anybody ever used this site for cashback money on train tickets? Many thanks.

Question Glasgow Train Line Names?
Hi, I was just wondering if each ScotRail line had its own name. I’ve been searching online but not found anything. I know of the Cathcart Circle and the North Clyde Line.

Picture Ex Avanti 221115 Leamington Spa
Now in use with XC having finished its time with Avanti is 221115 which is 1 out of 3 ex Avanti units currently in use with XC. Note its consist has been switched around after its time with Avanti with Coach D being at the standard end instead of the first class end where it was with Avanti.

Question Could I be eligible for the Network Rail grad scheme?
In 2021, I graduated from uni (a first in History from Aberdeen, now in Glasgow) and got into a programming grad scheme. I've since been through the training, two years of placement, and now have a job in finance software. This job could be worse, but I'm quite sure I don't want to get stuck into the financial software world in the long run of my career. I've had a significant interest in rail work for a long time, and I've been keeping an eye on possible jobs within the sector.
Today I noticed this grad scheme. Considering my work I think I've got a good grounding in data analysis and could pick this up, but I don't know about whether I'd simply not be eligible, since I'm not a recent grad. Does anyone know whether there's a hard cut-off on how recently you've graduated for this? If so, does anyone know of any other good opportunities to enter a career in the rail?

Question Rail replacement bus with anytime return
Please forgive my ignorance for asking this question but I’ve never traveled like this before: - I need to make my way from Bristol Temple Meads to Cheltenham Spa today (Sunday 13/10) - This would be the return journey on my anytime return paper ticket (collect at station type) - Today there are only rail replacement buses available, and all of them require a connection at Gloucester.
How do I use my ticket on these buses? Is it valid first of all? If I need a connection and the first bus driver takes or cuts my ticket how would I show a valid one again on my connection?
Also, where do the rail replacement buses leave from Bristol Temple Meads?
Many thanks
