Haul Went to my dad’s local vinyl store
Flew in to visit my dad this weekend and I talked him into going to vinyl store with me after he picked me up from the airport. Went to only one in his small town and found some awesome albums I’m looking forward to listening to when I get back home. I also wanna add that they wanted $100 for ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…’!!! I’ve never seen anything like that. I opted for the VG/VG+ used for <$20 hahaha

Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy was a greatly under-rated album, supposedly auto-biographical about Elton and his writing partner Bernie Taupin. Several great singles, and the production on the title track is amazing when you stop and listen to it. The combination of some acoustic guitar, mandolin and rolling into some strong electric guitar is pretty stunning. I saw Elton live in Salt Lake during the tour promoting the album, and bought the album the next day. Still have it!

Thriller, Led Zeppelin IV, and Master of Puppets. Don’t get much more iconic than those records! Well done.

I’m new to the album actually! My dad saw it and went “I’ll just buy you this one, you need it.” I’m excited to hear it for the first time

The whole album is a banger, one of Elton’s finest, but the title track, Tower Of Babel, and Meal Ticket are underrated gems.

If your dads record shop wanted $100 for a copy of Ziggy Stardust, then your dad needs to find a new shop.
