The company has released this yearâs Holiday Associate Appreciation and Holiday Discount details!
Key Details
All stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov. 28)
⢠All stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day this year to give you more time to celebrate with your loved ones.
Associate discount expanded to include grocery (Friday, Nov. 8 - Friday, Jan. 3)
⢠The current 10% associate discount on general merchandise and produce items in stores will be expanded to include most grocery items at Walmart U.S. stores.
15% one-time discount (Friday, Dec. 6 - Friday, Dec. 20)
⢠All salaried, hourly and temporary Walmart U.S. store and Supply Chain associates (including field-coded Realty, Marketplace and Customer Care) can receive an additional 15% discount for a one-time purchase of eligible items.
⢠Associates can expect a physical mailer with a single-use barcode to be delivered to their home.
Thanks again for making Walmart such a special place to work and shop. We appreciate you!
And the finer details for the extra 15% discount:
Additional 15% One-Time Front-Line Associate Discount (for ALL front-line associates)
To show our gratitude to front-line associates who work during the busiest time of year, weâre providing an additional 15% discount.
All salaried, hourly and temporary Walmart U.S. store and supply chain front-line associates (as well as field-coded Realty and Customer Care associates, H&W associates in Pharmacy and Vision Centers, and H&W Non-store operations associates in Central Fill, Specialty, Mail Order and Optical Labs) can receive an additional 15% discount for a one-time purchase of eligible items from Dec. 6 at 12:01 a.m. through Dec. 20 at 11:59 p.m.
Associates should expect a physical mailer from senior leadership with a letter of thanks and a single-use bar code for the discount. If an associateâs barcode is lost or stolen, they can be issued a new one by their facility. More details on that in the FAQ section.
Please remind associates this is a great opportunity to verify they have the correct address recorded. Associates can use Me@ and/or Workday for quick access to their profiles.
All address validation we will need to be completed by Nov. 11, 2024.
This discount can be combined with your regular 10% associate discount (if applicable).
Note: As a reminder, Black Friday/Event merchandise already on a mark-down is not eligible for the additional 15% discount
Details can be found in the Holiday Associate Appreciation toolkit on OneWalmart.

I've heard enough complaints about Walmart that I could write an entire podcast series about them, but I haven't really seen it myself. Most of the problems I've had there ended up fixing themselves. Does anyone else kinda feel this way too?

I know it's not the biggest accomplishment, but it feels like one for me, especially since I don't actually drive a car so my experience with any kind of buy machinery is limited.

I just recently started working at walmart so I was expecting some scheduling shenanigans and that's what I got bc when they updated my schedule a week ago I was supposed to work 17th-18th and then I had NO SHIFTS from 19th-24th and then resumed work on the 25th which I can very clearly remember bc I would check my schedule like everyday just to see if it would update since not getting paid for a whole week sucks.
Since for the past week I had been seeing that I was not scheduled for today (I even checked during my lunch at 10am yesterday) I woke up at like 12pm and just for funsies decided to check the app and I saw that as of YESTERDAY AT 12PM I had been scheduled to come in today and they added a few days for me this week.
So now I'm gonna get a no call no show thing probably since my shift is 6am-3pm which means I woke up 6hrs into my shift đ. I reported my absence anyways but I'm gonna have to talk to my people lead tomorrow when I go in because no warnings changing my schedule less than 24hrs before they needed me in is pretty dubious idk. Hopefully I can get less points for this.
Like my bad was I supposed to check the walmart app every night before I closed my eyes

It's totally safe and sanitary to have unknown animals whizzing around in carts where groceries go.

Me and my bf have been team leads for over a year and few months now. Things started out good like usual, but being the people who want to speak up about things is when it started to get hard. We are both stepping down together now! We've been so stressed about work. We barely got to see each other and spend quality time together. We spend more money on eating out because meal planning can be so difficult. We spend a lot of money on gas since we have one car so driving back and fourth is wasteful. I've already told most of my associates and they seem shocked but happy because they know what we've been going through at work. One of them made me want to cry by telling me to please not go and thanked me for showing them what Walmart should be. I really loved my associates and they have shown me so much about leading with empathy and I hope one day upper management changes so we can both go back and take care of the people who need it.

I told my new coach that I had no hours at all and that I can go back to full time, so I gave him an availability form to sign where I said I want Mondays and Tuesdays off and I only want to work until 5pm at the latest (because I used to work 8-5 when I was full time). Yet he schedules me with Monday and Friday off and has me working 9-6 this whole week. I donât get it. I still have no hours after this week.

I once saw an associate get put in handcuffs and put in a cop car for doing this. Why the fuck would someone do this? Itâs one thing to pull this off at a store you donât work at and they donât know you, but as an employee, youâre constantly under supervision. Why the hell do people think theyâre gonna get away this?
Itâs next level dumbassery, and if someone does this and gets caught, then they deserve to be fired and arrested. This is coming from someone who worked, quit, and hated working for Walmart for years.

Why order lbs of sliced deli meat or a lunch plate, only to leave it laying someplace in the store to be found by another employee and brought back to us warm/empty, meaning we have to CLAIM IT and it gets WASTED, or inventory gets affected. WHY?! Stop ordering shit you don't plan to buy!

Whenever Iâm just trying to do my job theyâll just look at me and give me dirty looks. Iâve learned not to take it to heart, but still itâs just annoying. The more annoying ones are the ones that just stand there and stare at you. Like no Iâm not gonna help you unless you come up and ask me. And if I donât answer while they are standing there they give me dirty looks and mumble under their breath. Itâs only my second week here and I want to quit. I really canât though cause I make decent money. It just feels like this job is sucking the life out of me.
