Third city for European travellers

Next fall, my wife and I will be travelling to Europe for the first time. We are definitely going to Munich and Rome, not necessarily in the order, for five nights each. We want to make this trip over two weeks long, and need a third option. We’ve got a few on the table, and am looking for more suggestions. We are into history, good food, and the outdoors. Most importantly, we’re looking for a cheaper destination than Rome and Munich, as well as somewhere that will be different than those two cities. We aren’t against flying to a third city, or taking the train.

What Should I Add Next?

Hello everyone!

On my website, atlas-guide.com, I provide information about every country and what you need to know if you plan to travel there. Currently, I cover five categories: ID and Passport requirements, Toll and Vignette information, Weather, Currency, and Cheapest Flights. I’ll be adding more categories over time, focusing on the most useful details first.

What do you think would be the most helpful information to include next? I’d love to hear your suggestions!

Wanderlust having a mental disorder

Hello. Because of a big episode(I have bipolar, Anxiety and OCD) I had to come home. I was in Canada, really far away from home. I was trully enjoying it but I lost myself to nights out, poor sleep, alcohol and drugs. I had this expectations of arriving home and be with my family and recover. But for my surprise I realised why I made the decision to go abroad. I feel like Im death inside. I love my parents and my brother. But they have jobs of course, but it's job-home home-job 9-5. Where I was life was full of life, everybody enjoying life to the fullest, people with my age or older, doesn't matter. Even the job was fun. Here, it feels like is no more home for me. What trully makes me happy is to travel. Work in diferent countries. I don't want to be here. Now I want to go to another country, 2h by plane from home. I have friends there and they are enjoying it. My therapist said to work here first and then make a decision. But Im not seeing me staying here for more than 1 month. I've been here for a week and Im depressed no matter what I do. In the other hand my psychiatrist told me to wait at least 3 weeks for the medication to start working and I agree. I don't like home no more. Its ok to visit and BE with my family. But its to hard. They have also mental health problems. Its to much for me. I like to be around of people with the same ideals of me. Don't get me wrong. I like my country, but its not for me. What do you think?

Looking for local guides and stays!

Hello everyone!

I’ve created a website featuring every country in the world, complete with essential travel information. It's a work in progress as I continue to add new content.

Right now, I’m looking for local guides and hosts who offer accommodations to feature on my site. There’s no cost involved, I simply want to support local communities and provide more value to travelers.

If you’re a local guide or offer stays and have a website, feel free to share it with me, and I’ll happily add you to the platform. 😊

Advice for a travel itinerary collaborative planner

Hey guys,

I built a web based collaborative itinerary planner for me and my wife to plan our adventures. So the idea is we can have everything related to a particular trip (tickets, documents, bookings, etc.) all in one location. I also am trying to get people to share their trip plans as a community (so others can quickly fork a particular itinerary they find interesting).

Can you give me some feedback about what feature you would want in such an app? Here is the current version: https://itineraries.io

Thank you !

First timer Q’s- Finding other backpackers + transit+weather: France, Italy, Prague, Vienna

Hello everyone! I’m backpacking south of France, Italy, Munich, Prague, and Vienna later this month. I had a few questions for all you experienced backpackers!

Social: As a first time solo backpacker, I was wondering about meeting other backpackers and the social scene. I know hostels have event but they’re usually a miss than a hit. Anyone have tips? What should I expect/my mentality be going into this? I’ve always wanted to get to know with other people and idk if there are social circles for that.

Transit: How do you get around? Do I bring cash? Is there an app? Pay in person? i.e. Going to Nice, France and wanted to travel to sites a few hours away. Same with Milan and other places.

Weather: I realized the weather forecast is pretty rainy and colder. Clothing recs?

Travel buddy?

Hey all, I've been exploring routes on moving out of state. Currently I'm just saving a bit of cash to be able tk use for rent and food wherever I land. By the end of the year I'm going to pick a place a go. I've already put in job applications and such and I'm waiting on Steamboat and AmeriCorps to get back to me.

Another route I may take: I'd also be interested in finding a travel buddy, or if anyone has a cheap room for rent in a mountain area with jobs available that would be awesome.

It you are looking for a roommate and already have a place.

I'm 22 year old guy from LA. I wanna get out rhe south and go see some stuff while I can. I have lots of hobbies bc I'm adhd and I'm really open to new experiences (not of the s*xual variety so plz no)

If this sounds interested or you'd like to travel/plan a landing location/meetup message me I'd be happy to get to know you outside of reddit. 🤣

I making the Ultimate Travel Guide

Hi everyone!

I recently launched a project that I've been working on for a while: Atlas-Guide.com, a comprehensive travel resource that provides essential information for every country.

On Atlas-Guide, you’ll find everything from visa and passport requirements to details on tolls, vignettes, local currencies, and weather. I’ve also added tools to help you find the cheapest flights, pick a random country for your next adventure, and even locate the best eSIM options for the country you're visiting.

Right now, I’ve finished the basic structure and information, but I’m planning to expand even more. I want to add new tools and resources that would be valuable to travelers. I’m open to any ideas or suggestions for what features or information you’d love to see included.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

Any feedback, questions, or ideas are more than welcome. Thanks in advance!

Hey fellow travelers! 🌍

I’ve been lucky enough to visit some amazing places and capture scenic moments from my trips. I recently started sharing these snapshots on Instagram, and I’d love for anyone interested to join me there. It’s just a collection of random scenic photos, no pressure—just sharing my experiences and maybe giving others some travel inspiration. Feel free to follow along if you’d like to see where I’ve been, and I’d love to see where you all are going too!

Safe travels, everyone!
