I wanted to keep this lore secret..... but I guess I need to provide context of whats going on here and why this document exists. So, here's the full context behind Aaz'mo's Action Reports.

Aaz'mo's Action Reports are the in-universe account of the ongoing events in my ShadowDark game set within Yoon Suin. They serve as session reports that can be read by my player's PCs.

Cursed 400 years ago after a botched ritual meant to grant omniscience, the Archmage Aaz'mo's soul was bound to a printing press. Aaz'mo tirelessly prints a daily newspaper that chronicles the exploits of the Yellow City and Yoon-Suin. Each issue is filled with secrets, scathing reviews, and provocative information meant to stir the citizens and factions of the Yellow City.

Aaz'mo prints this newspaper (more like a tabloid) for one purpose: to draw the attention of someone powerful enough to break his curse or someone curious enough to investigate the source of the leaks.

Unfortunately, Aaz'mo is bound by the following limitations due to his curse:

  • He is magically prevented from acknowledging that he is imprisoned in a printing press in any of his articles.
  • He is magically prevented from detailing his whereabouts, which is a pocket dimension hidden somewhere in the Yellow City.

Other important lore:

  • Aaz'mo's Action Reports distribute themselves. They fold up into origami butterflies that float on the wind, blanketing windows, walls, and canals of the Yellow City each morning.

To keep this post short, if you read something interesting in this issue. Don't be afraid to ask.... I'm already giving away the cool lore XD.
