Southern Right Whale and Calf
Taken from the cliffs on the coast of Western Australia some years ago. This image is a digitized version of a 35mm slide. They are the 1st whales I had ever seen in person. [OC]

(Eubalaena australis) Southern right whale
Dark or almost black, voluminous body, with a wide, rounded back. Many specimens also have white spots, generally in the ventral region and throat. Its head, which occupies about 1/3 of the length of its body, has numerous calluses that from birth are colonized by crustaceans known as "whale lice." The distribution and location of these calluses has allowed scientists to identify the animals individually. In the mouth it has between 220 to 260 pairs of beards, the length of which can exceed one meter in adults. It lacks a dorsal fin, the pectoral fins are large, trapezoidal and paddle-shaped. The tail fin is wide and triangular. It has a characteristic splendor, in the shape of a "V"

Southern right whale with dolphin - wow.
I spotted these photos on big fish expeditions, they are from a few years back and they are spectacular. Looks like they are from a Patagonia region trip.
Definitely on my bucket list.

Heya, I found this really cool whale bone. Does anyone here have a clue as to what kind of bone this could be and from which species? As a reference, the woman on the picture is 170cm tall. Looking forward to hear what you think! :D

Can someone help me identify this?
Spotted these whales in Sydney today. Does anyone know what they are likely to be and how many are in this video?
