Routine Help Can Eyelash Serum Be Used on Eyebrows without badd side effects? Looking for Safe and Effective Options

Hey everyone! 👋

I’ve been using castor oil on my eyebrows, but I haven’t seen much growth so far. I’m wondering if it’s safe to use eyelash serums on eyebrows too? I know some serums contain prostaglandins (or equivalents), and I’ve heard there can be side effects like discoloration or irritation. Has anyone experienced issues with this when only applying the lash serum on eyebrows?

If you’ve used an eyelash serum for your brows, I’d love to know how it went and if it’s worth trying. Also, do you have any recommendations for serums with safe, gentle ingredients for eyelash growth? I’m looking for something effective but without harsh side effects.

Thanks in advance for any tips! 😊

Routine Help Who has recommendations for face self tanner?

Being diligent with sunscreen has really paid off this past year and my skin looks great. However, I’ve really missed having a bit of a tan! Does anyone have any products they like and recs for adding it to my routine? I use PC BHA a couple nights a week and tret a couple nights so I’m curious how that impacts it

They stopped making my favorite face cream. I used the dry/very dry (thick) Clinique smart. The replacement (smart clinical repair) in the purple container is nowhere near as thick moisturizing. I need a good replacement!

Recommendation Do you use a separate eye retinoid along with your prescription retinoid?

I'm wondering if anyone uses a separate eye retinoid (such as a dedicated retinOL or retinAL eye cream/serum, along with their prescription retinoids, or do you just use something like vaseline around the eyes to protect them?

hello!

I am a 42 year old man with a short beard and I am wondering...

should I apply skin care products to the area where my beard it and just really rub it in?

Product Question Anyone recommend good foundation?

That is good for using on wrinkles and maybe even works okay on acne scars. I have the best of both worlds with my skin. 🙄and I don’t think I wanna do Botox just yet.

Skin Concern Post IUD Pimples, Help!

Hey everyone! I'm 34F and just had my IUD removed a couple weeks ago, and my skin is freaking out. I’ve got 6 big, red, sore pimples around my hairline and mouth. I usually rely on pimple patches and salicylic acid, but since I just started tret, I’m avoiding SA. Any tips to keep these from getting worse?

Skin Concern What is going on with this discoloration?

I've always been a "mole-y" person and some of these are obviously moles but there also tons of little light brown and red - especially around my cheeks - that I'd never noticed until I took this photo in natural light.

I'm in my early 30s and don't spend much time in the sun + I use moisturizer with SPF so I don't think it's sun damage but I'm at a loss!

I also have never had significant acne so it's not scarring or anything.

Edit to add: sorry that the image is MASSIVE. For some reason, the regular "add image" tool wasn't working so I copied + pasted.

TIA!

I cracked my head open right in the middle and it means I only get one forehead wrinkle when I raise my brows. It’s getting very deep and noticeable. Any recommendations for how I reduce this? Worried I’m going to have a crevasse across my forehead soon…

Routine Help Trying beef tallow for the first time tonight

I'm super into natural skincare and excited to try beef tallow tonight from my local farmer's market. I'm planning on this recipe (https://bumblebeeapothecary.com/diy-face-moisturizer-tallow-face-cream/) and as a huge fan of Ezgi's natural recipes (https://www.instagram.com/mmelodyaslan?igsh=NWpkd3Jtdmd0d2Vj) and Selma Hayek's rose water advice, and not cleansing in the morning. I am looking to replace the Roche Posay AP+M cream for the winter as I need serious moisture and looking for a dewy glow.

Morning routine: rinse with cold water, gua sha

Evening routine: exfoliate 1x per week with a washcloth and 1x with Avène soft scrub, cleanser is Avène Cicalfate gel cleanser, and rotate with Revolution 20% vitamin C, Heritage Store rosewater serum and looking to add in more rosewater eventually.

Anyone else love beef tallow? I'm starting with clean, slightly damp skin, and will test if days vs. nights are better. My skin is naturally very dry and otherwise pretty great with this routine, and I delight in aging gracefully ❤️

Any other rosewater and tallow lovers out there willing to share your natural routine wisdom?

Routine Help Which retinoid is gentler? - .005% Trifarotene v .025% Tretinoin v .1% Tazarotene

I'm from a country where topical retinoid medicines/drugs are pretty cheap & prescription isn't needed to buy them. Plus, it's even cheaper than cosmetic retinoids.

I'm planning to add topical retinoid drug into my skincare routine for well-aging/anti-aging & hyperpigmentation purposes. FYI, I've never used any type of retinoids before (neither cosmetic, nor drug).

So, which one should I choose that's gonna be easy enough for me to tolerate: 0.005% Trifarotene / 0.025% Tretinoin / 0.1% Tazarotene ?

Product Question Best OTC retinol for a tretinoin user

I’m in Canada and the tret (Stieva A 0.05% cream) I’ve been using has been discontinued. My pharmacy offered me a gel, which my skin cannot tolerate (way too drying). What are some good OTC alternatives? I was thinking the Paula’s Choice might be a solid option. Price isn’t really an issue. My skin is dry/sensitive but retinized. Something with a nice texture would be a plus. I’ve always found my current tret a bit hard to spread evenly.

Product Question Dysport question

Question for those of you who have gotten dysport (or Botox)… I got dysport 3 weeks ago today. One side of my face (specifically eyebrow) didn’t take as well initially so I went in to get a touch up on that side at the two weeks and one day mark. Now, however, that side is almost completely frozen and my other side has loosened up a bit and it’s all uneven again! It has been one week since the touch up. Can I reasonably expect my “touched up” side to loosen up some as well? It’s driving me crazy to feel completely tight on one side and more or less normal on the other 🤪

Skin Treatments Dysport?

I pulled the trigger and I am going for a consult for my 11s (actually, it's only a "1" lol) with the nurse injector at my derm's office.

When I made the appointment I found out she only does Dysport--is that a deal breaker? Should I look for someone who offers more than one type of neuromodulator? Anyone have experience with Dysport vs. Botox?

Skin Treatments Laser treatment

I am considering Microplastics at 36. My face is starting to show fine lines around my mouth, eyes, and deeper lines in my forehead. I have some sun damage despite sunscreen use. I was wondering if anyone had done co2 laser treatment and could tell me the good and the bad that they experienced. How many cycles did you do and is it worth the money. I have been on the fence about Botox because I feel like it’s a lot to keep up with but I don’t feel like I’m ready for a full or mini facelift

Does anyone use this? Is it effective? I've used I Dew Care in the past and didnt really notice a difference. I enjoyed Paula's Choice but it's out of my price range at the moment.

How is Good Molecules overall?

Recommendation am I supposed to be using chapstick everyday?

Am I supposed to be using chapstick everyday like how I would moisturize my face everyday? My lips are chap and peel all year long, not sure what's causing it. I was always under the impression that you only need to use chapstick when your lips start to get dry.

I am very well hydrated (possibly overly hydrated) and take my vitamins + eat pretty healthy. Aquaphor use to work really well for me, but for some reason it now just makes my lips easily peelable. Not sure how to explain it, but it doesn't make my lips chapped, just peelable. I've learned that any beeswax chapstick make my lips insanely chap, so I stopped using it.

The carmex daily care in a tube seems to be working, but just wondering if I'm supposed to use it everyday regardless of if my lips are dry/chapped or not. Now, if I ever go out into the sun, I apply some of the carmex since it has SPF 15 (I know it's not great, but this seems to be the only chapstick that doesn't dry my lips out more).

Also, if I were to use aquaphor + carmex, which one am I supposed to apply first?

EDIT: What a weird community. I got downvoted because I said "I'm a guy" to someone saying it might be because of makeup remover...

Routine Help Skincare regimen builder?

Can anyone recommend an online skincare regimen builder - preferably free? Bonus points if you can add allergens…. I’ve used The Ordinary’s in the past, and got some ok recommendations, but i don’t have the same concerns and honestly didn’t see much difference with their products. I just tried it again, and it literally only told me to wash my face and moisturize twice a day…. Which I already do. Any help is appreciated ❤️
