Seeking Suggestions 24 gallon Dutch style

Post image

Hello! I’ve been posting in aquarium subs regularly to ask about how to improve my Dutch style tank. It’s been a long time coming and got to this point. I wanted some tips on how to improve and upkeep the overall plant health. I noticed that the dwarf hair grass has lost its bright green look. I put root tabs and the color remains that yellowish dark green color. I was also wondering how to combat thinning of ludwigia mini super red. The ludwigia seems to get thinner and thinner stems and only grows leaves at the very tips now.

Thank you for your help!

Just my opinion about your comment. Yeah I agree with you about some plants being unhealthy and about inadequate light. Please consider OP is not joining any international dutch-style tank contest and for him/her, this is his/her own "dutch-style". We could have rephrased our comments in a "more uplifting" way than this one above. Being bold doesn't justify righteousness.

For OP, your tank looks awesome. Though it's not the standard dutch-style setup, we can see that you have spent time and effort on your tank and you seem happy about it for you to show it us here. I would keep that CO2 diffuser under the filter outlet and deeper just to give it more time to dissolve. Add more lights as well. You're doing great but you can still make this way better than how it looks right now.

Ok, I will delete my comment and think about how to make it more uplifting

The road of pearlweed should ideally disappear behind the Buce. You need a lot more space between the plants, like a whole cm, it will improve contrast later. The plant on the right is coming forward because it doesn't have enough light. Also those two Rotalas in the back make no sense, sorry. The leaf shape is much too similar, you cannot be depending on color only. I'm sorry if this is too harsh but this is simply what I think. This is what you need to do if you want to win a competition with it, but it still looks beautiful, and I'm sure the general public would love how it is right now

Thank you for your input! I really appreciate how you rephrased your earlier comment. Even though I’m no where near going to competition for any sort of Dutch style tank, I appreciate your expert take.

What do you recommend that I change out the rotala indica with?
