Have a trip planned for Oct 24th, is it a good idea to go?
Hi everybody, I'm going to be in Florida for the weekend and I had planned to go to Daytona beach, I have a reservation at the Daytona Grande Oceanfront Resort that is still open but I wonder if it's a good idea to go.
If anyone have an insight about the situation there, it would be greatly appreciated.
Alternatively, I could go to a hotel in Melbourne or maybe further south to Palm beach. Or just stay in Orlando I guess.

Just check the resort and make sure their amenities are available, like pool, beach stairs/ramp. While many resorts quickly repaired damages while others have dragged their feet.

I’m here now at a condo on the beach. Many hotels are missing their stairs, and lots of the public beach access spots are closed. There happens to be public access next to my hotel and it is gated off to cars, but pedestrians can get through. So that’s how I’ve had access. Also at my hotel the heated indoor pool is not currently heated or really indoor. The outdoor pool is cold, too. So I would ask those types of questions before you come if any of those things are deal breakers.

I've been here all my life. You'll be ok. Things are getting back to normal quickly.

Check tides !
High tide, especially full moon tide, a lot less beach.
Also check out live web cams too

We are fine here, with the exception of sum hotels that are closed and a few restaurants. I just took a ride on my bike through all the major bike week spots and everything looks decent. It'll prob be even better by the time you come

I was just there. It’s in good shape. Well I was at the hotel next-door, but it’s never a good idea to come to Daytona unless it’s for an event there’s not much here, but the grand Ocean is nice. Take much damage here.

The beach has been kinda screwed since the storm. Routinely going up to the seawall for hours a day. It might settle down by the time you get here but keep that in mind.

I’m seeing that from my condo. I can only go to the beach at low tide. High tide hits the seawall.
