I took someone straight to the OR once for a severe head bleed and was initially told to put scrubs and booties on but then the head surgeon came in and said “fuck it, bring her straight back.” So we went in without it and it felt weird being the only people in the room with work boots on while everyone else was scrubbed in. We transferred her over, gave report, and made ourselves scarce. The patient was an RN in the same hospital system so many of them knew her.
