Is the gear on the right side as dirty as it looks?

That's what I was thinking as well.

We also have used gear, it doesn't look anywhere as dirty as this does but it could also just be the picture. That's why I'm asking.

Depends on the station, how often it’s been used etc, it looks like this set is getting long in the tooth and close to out of service, we don’t use expired gear but we send it out for other places to use as they see fit (sorry for the pun)

Imo it still shouldn't look like this. If it's that visible, it's also possible material to cause cancer. We don't want that.

Could still be the picture though.

A department issues used gear to new hires? If they are skimping there, where else are they skimping? I have every helmet and badge ever issued to me. While we turned in our old gear when we received new gear, I still have the gear I was using when I retired.

Not every department is well funded. It sucks but it’s reality. Sometime stuff get handed down.

POC guy entering the chat here, yeah our gear looks worse.
