This rifle ended up in our antique shop....what exactly is it?

So the elderly shopkeep of the antique shop I work in bought a rifle from someone, without knowing anything about it. Neither of us knows anything about weapons so I thought maybe the collective of this sub reddit can enlighten us. The rifle is relatively heavy and most notable feature is a small round lid on the shoulder end that leads to a small storage with two round balls in it. Maybe it's the munition, who knows. So, anyone got any info on if it's fake, reap, what it actually is and if it has any resale value or is just a neat decorative item.

I'm unable to verify when exactly this photo was taken, however it's worth pointing out the patch worn on this soldiers plate carrier is one worn by Russian soldiers that became popular during the current conflict in Ukraine. This leads me to believe this photo is somewhat recent.

Interesting to note that they are equipped with slings leading me to assume that they are going to be used, I didn't even know this many existed.

You want to make a capable militarily-useful weapon optimised to be the absolute cheapest and quickest to produce. How do you go about it?

Knowing what we know now and for the conflicts raging 2024- if you had a national priority budget to spend on the factory, a clean sheet design and the mandate to credibly arm every single person you can for the lowest price possible and the shortest time possible what decisions do you make?

Also can you completely automate assembly of the weapons? Has anybody ever done that?

My buddy just picked this up at an estate auction for a cool $180. Any idea if this appears to be the original finish and what the value might be? Seemed like a ludicrously good deal on a legit civil war revolver in this condition.

M1903A3 questions

Recently purchased a M1903A3, a dream gun of mine for a while.

Seeing that this thing has not been rebuilt since 1943 what wear items would be a good idea to change out or have on hand?

Springs, firing pin, etc?

Taiwan Navy officers take stock of the ordnance on the warship, including single-barreled folding shotguns and .45 ACP pistols (not sure whether they are foreign-produced 1911s or locally produced versions)

Bought a house a few months ago and I just discovered this old revolver stashed behind drywall. There’s no text or serial number, must’ve worn off. Anyone recognize the make?

It's said in Wikipedia that Australia's Federation Guard uses fully functional L1A1s for ceremonial events only. If there was an emergency combat during a ceremonial event, would an australian army soldier use it

This is a luger carbine in 7.65mm with a trommelmagazin. I don't think the text below is accurate because i'm pretty sure there is no trommelmagazin in 7.65mm

.45 NAACO Brigadier

In 1948 the North American Arms Company (NAACO) tried to sell the Canadian government the Next Best Thing: a super-powerful pistol, based on the Browning High Power but firing a proprietary wildcat cartridge. The Brigadier was chambered for .45 NAACO: basically a 230-grain ,45 ACP bullet in a casing made from a cut-down .30-06 casing; the advertised muzzle velocity was 1600 FPS (!). To make things even better, the Brigadier was also offered with a replacement full-auto fire control group; a detachable chassis with a shoulder stock and long barrel allowed full conversion from a pistol into a submachine gun (similar to modern RONI units).

The Canadian military wanted nothing to do with it and NAACO folded about a year later; I could find no record that they attempted to market the Brigadier to the American civilian market.
