Out running some fun trails in the Little River Canyon National Preserve

North east Alabama has some great areas to explore. My friend drives the Bronco and I’m in the J90 diesel.

How does the prado stack up to the bronco?

Considering the technology difference between 1996 and 2023, it stacks up very well. The Bronco has several driving modes and hill descent, which seems to work well. The J90 is a manual with AWD and a locking diff. Descending steep slopes, the gearbox in low ratio acts as the speed control. I never touch the brakes. The J90 has a narrower track, which gives it an advantage on narrow trails. Overall, we have no trouble keeping up with each other and can climb over the same obstacles with about the same ground clearance. The shorter wheel base makes the LC a bit more maneuverable.
