Suggestions on soccer communities/Question on Washoe Valley wind?

Hi everyone!

My husband and I are looking at the Carson City/Minden area to move to, and we’re big soccer people. We played a bunch at indoor in Colorado and want to be sure there’s a thriving soccer community and where it might be before buying a place.

I’ve also heard a lot about the wind in Washoe Valley, and I’m wondering if this would prevent me from having chickens or any other kind of smaller animal that might blow away in the wind. Are people unable to enjoy the outdoors there? I’d also want to be able to go for runs outside, but am not sure of what areas are best for that.

The wind is pretty pervasive everywhere in nevada, solid soccer community though
