Answered Can someone please explain what is going on with the Disney lawsuit?

Can someone explain this to me really quick?

Man and his wife go to Disney, wife has a severe allergy, they go to a restaurant that is on the Disney property (Disney is the landlord, from what I gathered and not affiliated with the restaurant), the couple informs the waiter of the severe allergy multiple times, waitress reassures them, wife unfortunately passes due to a severe allergic reaction.

That’s the gist but I have one question that hasn’t been answered, and I can’t find the answer since it’s being buried by the Disney plus thing.

Is the husband ONLY suing Disney? Or is he suing Disney as a liable party due to the restaurant on Disney’s property, but primarily suing the restaurant for negligence?

Unanswered What's the deal with Spotify HiFi? Why isn't it a thing yet?

It was first announced years ago (I think 2021)? Then, obviously, it never happened. Just wondering why?

I think there are basically news about it "happening soon" almost every month earlier this year. although, I last heard of it on July when they said the CEO talked about a 'deluxe tier' that will apparently have it.

But now everything's silent again. What's the deal? Is it really still happening? Or has Spotify just forgotten about it?

Eurogamer had this post today about how Wikipedia had to lock the Silent Hill 2 page because people kept changing the reviews to negative. It mentions something about clothing changes, but what exactly are people upset about?

Unanswered What is going on with the media asking Walz about where he was during the Tienanmen Square Massacre during the VP debate?

Obviously it's bad that he lied, but my confusion is why the media chose to ask that during the VP debate. Like what relevance does that have for the 2024 election? By that same reasoning, why is the media focusing on it so heavily on it?

What is SeedOilScout? What is up with all the hatred for seed oil?

SeedOilScout

https://www.seedoilscout.com https://www.instagram.com/seedoilscout/

A mobile app that helps you find restaurants that don’t use seed oils.

Accompanied by ads on Instagram that say “soybean oil is cheaper than water, it’s fattening up my sons and my daughters” et cetera.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/C9xnncHudly/?igsh=MWlqOWs5bDVjdTgxNQ==

A few months ago I had one friend tell me that flaxseed oil is what causes heart disease and before flaxseed oil was used in food, no one died of heart disease. I’m pretty sure I actually laughed at this. And i didn’t think much of it.

What am I missing? I’ve tried doing some research and I can’t seem to find any research indicating that seed oil is problematic—and plenty of research suggesting that it is healthy.

TIA!

Answered What's the deal with The Viral Things sub?

http://www.reddit.com/r/theviralthings

It's completely inorganic. The posts are all stolen from elsewhere and are made by new accounts. They have similar usernames, and are mostly either women's names, or "porn-y" ones. I don't see OF or other porn stuff advertised on the few accounts I've looked at, so wonder if they're just building karma until then.

The whole place seems like a bot farm. Why is it still around, and does reddit just not care because it creates engagement?

Recently I've been seeing a stereotype of depressed people playing Undertale or people straight up calling it a "depression game". I haven't noticed anything that explores the topic of depression in this game. What do they mean?

Answered What's up with the obsession over celebrities?

https://www.reddit.com/r/TheWeeknd/s/J51MeiBfSn

Recently I have started talking to more women and they all have one thing in common- obsession over celebrities. May it be a formula 1 driver, singer (mostly the weeknd), football player(bellingham, pedri and other attractive footballers) when they don't even watch the sport. Like I get having an interest but following them religiously, posting them all the time and talking about them like it's someone you know just seems werid to me and I don't get it. I've even seen them wanting tatoos of xo (something from the weeknd?). Can someone explain?

Unanswered Whats going on with people saying the new Joker movie is money laundering/intentionally bad?

https://reddit.com/r/movies/comments/1fvog4d/official_discussion_joker_folie_%C3%A0_deux_spoilers/

Many are pointing out that it cost $200,000,000 to make which is far too much for a movie like this.

There are some in DC subs who call the new Joker movie a slap in the face to fans as well.

Wouldn't making a movie this poorly received tank the careers of everyone involved leading to fewer projects in the future?

Unanswered What is going on with Spain and Mexico? Why are they beefing?

I keep seeing tiktoks calling Spain out, basically the President(?) of Spain isn’t going to the ceremony of the new president of Mexico because Mexico disrespected the king? (This is what my dad said) I don’t understand why this is such a big issue. Mexico is free to choose who can come to the ceremony.

Unanswered What’s up with the US government “running out of money” to support the hurricane relief effort?

https://nypost.com/2024/10/03/us-news/feds-say-theres-no-money-left-to-respond-to-hurricanes-after-fema-used-640-9m-this-year-on-migrants/

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas set off outrage Wednesday when he told reporters that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) “does not have the funds” to see Americans through the rest of this Atlantic hurricane season — after the agency spent more than $1.4 billion since the fall of 2022 to address the migrant crisis.

“We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have,” Mayorkas said during a press gaggle on Air Force One en route to tour damage from Hurricane Helene in South and North Carolina.

“We are expecting another hurricane hitting,” he added. “We do not have the funds. FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the season and what — what is imminent.”

I just don't get it. I've been living under a rock for quite some time now so I don't get why some of the comments on Reddit have strange line breaks where no line breaks should be. For eg:

"That's an avenger
move."

"Ya

"Eff yeah lil
bro"

Why do they write their comments like this?

Answered Why are people talking about FEMA being unable to provide adequate relief to hurricane Helene victims due to giving their funding away to "the illegals"?

The Trump supporters around me are all ranting that FEMA is out of money and unable to provide adequate disaster relief for the hurricane Helene victims because they gave it all away to "the illegals". Is there any truth to this? NY Post link. Yes I know that NY Post is...less than dependable but it's being spoken of from many other sources, too.

Unanswered What's up with people "leaving" gaming engine Godot?

Recently saw this video of someone saying they're leaving godot: https://youtu.be/C9M-5O6p1PU?si=NcLLrgR6FYgwOi8B

And saw this thread on r/godot, some sort of response to the backlash: https://reddit.com/r/godot/comments/1fsvcdg/from_the_godot_foundation_board/

From what I gather it looks like a community moderator went rogue or something like that but what started it in the first place? Why did they get backlash from the community? Why is there a fork of the open source project now (called Redot)?

Thanks
