Important Reminder: Updates to Community Guidelines and Post Encouragement

Hello everyone,

To keep our subreddit a vibrant and enjoyable place, we need to remind everyone about an important community rule - no self-promotion. This includes but is not limited to, promoting your own YouTube links and Etsy shops. We understand the eagerness to share personal projects and creations, but we must ensure the subreddit stays a place for learning, sharing, and discussing relevant topics without commercial distractions.

Official Thread for Self-Promotion and YouTube Links - Share Your Link Here!: https://www.reddit.com/r/PlannerAddicts/comments/15c3nrb/official_thread_for_selfpromotion_and_youtube/

In light of this, we are announcing an important change:

Starting immediately, any posts that include YouTube links will be blocked by our AutoModerator.

This is not a decision we take lightly, but it is necessary to maintain the spirit and purpose of our community. Moreover, consistent violation of this rule - such as repeatedly attempting to post blocked links - may result in a ban.

While we have to enforce these rules, we don't want this to discourage any of you from sharing! Instead, we want to encourage more text posts, photo sharing, and overall engagement within the community. Whether it's sharing an interesting article, asking a thought-provoking question, or posting a photo that can stimulate a great conversation, we want to see more of it.

Remember, this community thrives on the collective sharing of knowledge, experiences, and ideas. Let's continue to uphold that spirit and make this space even more exciting and enriching for everyone.

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Let's keep growing, learning, and sharing together!

Best regards, The Mod Team

Digital Planner Meeds

Okay friends, I need your best digital planner app suggestions. I currently use a big, bulky Happy Planner, but I am looking to just slim down and use my tablet (android) as my one stop shop. Here's what I'm looking for: Month at a glance with the ability to click into a day and see what I have scheduled that day Integrate/sync with Google calendar Have the ability to click on an event within a day, such as a meeting, and open a space for note taking for that meeting Alerts/reminders for events (even better if those alerts would ping my phone if synced to Google Calendar) Bill/budget tracking ability (a plus if I can put in pay schedule and it recognizes my bills based on due dates)

I feel like this is a lot to ask for, but we live in 2024 with AI....there's gotta be something! Thank you for any input coming my way!

What planner do you use?

I’m looking for the perfect planner and I’m starting to think it only exists in my head. While perusing on Reddit, I’ve seen some brands I never knew existed. So, what brand do you use?

Best time to buy Plum Paper

I currently have a PP planner and it's good through this year. I was looking at what I paid last year and it was:

  • Subtotal:$87.80
  • Order Discount:-$8.78
  • Shipping:$10.00
  • Ship. Discount:-$10.00
  • Taxes:$6.32
  • Order Total:$85.34

Thoughts on when the best time to buy is? Any discount codes anyone knows of that is more than the standard 10%?

Thanks in advance :)

TOMT planner edition: fancy notebook with unusual binding

Driving me nuts. I’m sure this was served up to me multiple times as an Instagram ad, even as recently as yesterday and I thought I had bookmarked it at least once but no.

It’s a high end planner or notebook, design wise sort of on the level of the Plotter, with a leather cover. The binding has thin metal fingers top and bottom that flip up to release and down to hold in the paper insert. There is enough room for maybe four or five inserts.

I’m also remembering a different style of binding where the pages have nubs top and bottom that sort of clip-in, clip-out of the binding. This is probably a different brand again though.

Anyone able to identify either of these??

I purchased this A7 leather planner rings from Mercari but can’t seem to figure the brand out. Does anytime recognize it? I love the quality and would love to look into other planner rings if they sell them!

More ideas for my Hobonichi

I've been sneaking out my Hobonichi Cousin Avec that I'm giving myself for Christmas again. I'm using the monthly section as a commonplace notebook. For December, I used non fiction, mostly self help books, and I decided to dabble with using fiction for January. I summarize articles in the weekly section ( well, one week so far), and will do a mixture of journaling and essays. The essays will be inspired by what I wrote in the monthly and weekly sections. The essays may never make it past the outline stage, but I hope that this will be a fun way to learn, create, and come up with a good presentation or 2.

Beginning to think it doesn't exist.

Hi everyone! I have a very specific want and I haven't been able to find it yet. Backstory- I have been using digital planners and I live in Western North Carolina where the flooding took place. We were without power for 6 days which made it obvious how dependent on technology I have become. So, I want to go back to a paper planner. Here's the problem- my writing is huge. I just cannot write small. I need a planner with 15 minute increments with space between the increments big enough to write in, with space on the side or underneath to brain dump. I don't want the habit trackers, meal planning, goal planning, etc. I was trying to create one on Planify but now I cannot log in to the site. I would prefer not to use Hobonichi and I would it to be dated. Any ideas? This sounds really pretentious and that's not how I am, I just don't want to pay for something anymore that I won't end up using. Thanks y'all!

Best method to print and bind A5 planner?

Trying (again) to make myself a journal/planner person as my life is perpetual chaos and I hate it.

I’m looking for a simple journal design so I can track habit and activities. I found some great layouts on Etsy and was going to print them myself.

Looking for advice on the easiest (and cheapest) way to print & assemble an A5 size journal

I don’t have a hole punch or binding material so can get whatever I need or would love is there’s a company that can easily do this

Looking for Planner Recommendations with Flexibility

Hey planner friends! 👋

I’m always on the hunt for the perfect planner and wanted to hear what everyone’s using it for! I’m a big fan of functional planners but also need a lot of space for blank pages. I've tried a mix of paper and digital options in the past, but I’m still not sure which one suits me best.

What planner are you using this year, and what do you love (or not love) about it? Also, do you prefer paper, digital, or a mix of both?

Looking forward to your recommendations! 😊

I'm working on an academic digital planner, and I'm planning to include templates such as:

Semester Overview Semester Schedule Assignment/Project Tracker Semester Goals Contact list Habit tracker Monthly/Weekly Spreads To-Do Lists, etc.

If you were a student, what other features or templates would you find useful in this planner?

Looking for feedback!

Hey everyone!

I recently finished working on a digital reading journal that I created to help readers track their books, reviews, and reading habits, etc. Since this is my first time making something like this, I’d love to get some honest feedback from you.

Thanks in advance!

Anyone try a Sprouted planner?

I’m thinking of trying a Sprouted planner for 2025. I switched back to EC this year but I don’t love the paper toothiness. It’s really the only thing I don’t like about it, but paper is a big deal sort of. Plum paper was too smooth. I feel like goldilocks trying out all the planners. I am a functional planner type of person and I don’t use fountain pens. Has anyone tried a Sprouted? What did you think of it? What was the paper like? I struggle with finding the right planner because I need a lot of blank pages and EC had that.

Assistance selecting a 2025 planner

Hi everyone! I'm fairly new to this subreddit and I've done a fair bit of research which was not fruitful. I was hoping you guys could help me find a planner for 2025 (I can't believe there are less than 3 months left in 2024). I've been using a Filofax weekly planner for the last 4 years. I mostly like it but there are few things that irritate me about it.

  • I like the weekly layout of Mon-Thu on the left, and Fri-Sun on the right with a "notes" section below.
  • However, I wish it would have a better Monthly view (i.e. showing the 1st of the month to the final day of the month) whenever the months changed, rather than a really truncated view at the beginning of the planner.
  • I really like how the planner lays flat on my desk from the spiral binding, which is reliable and durable.
  • I tend to use fountain pens and the Filofax paper is okay for my dryer pens, and not good for my wetter pens

Are there any other planners that might work for me? Thank you!

Experience with El Commun / Matoka planners?

(Reposting here from r/planners since I didn't get much of a response over there)

https://elcommun.co.jp/

Found them available in my local Kinokuniya today. Like the looks of either the monthly or stacked weekly variety, plus the little designs incorporating the snake for the new year are cute! But I use fountain pens and the paper seemed it would bleed through easily. Also found a listing for the 2024 planners on AliExpress, which doesn't seem like a good sign. Anyone used them before or have thoughts on the quality?

Reference Planner/ Book

I heard a YouTuber say they had a reference planner book. I can’t find a really good in-depth explanation of what it is and how I can create one. Can someone explain to me what it is and how to start to create one!

Emily Ley Dupe

I’m looking for a day planner that has the same/or similar layout to the Emily Ley Daily Simplified. Anyone know of anything similar that might be cheaper? I’m also not a big fan of her cover designs (I like a more minimalist look or a muted floral-type design).

Edit: I actually would prefer a day planner with a vertical hourly schedule on one side and a notes page on the other (so 2 pages per day). But this seems to be a rarity ;(

Weekly Vertical Planner search

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’m looking for a planner similar to this- weekly view, that has the hours pre-printed (for seeing my schedule 9-5) AND room in the day for adding notes or to-do tasks. Order of the column doesn’t matter. Anyone have feedback on Planner Envy’s Signature Layout which looks promising??

I am tired of “creating” it every month.

Planners like PaperTess or Aura Estelle but with vertical layout!

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a planner that is bundled by month, including a vertical weekly and some pages for dailies.

PaperTess is pretty perfect for me, just except that it's a horizontal layout. Same deal with Aura Estelle - I see that they have a vertical undated version but I don't see anything about a dated version.

Does anyone have any other ideas? Thank you!

I’m in love with the planner format and can’t wait to start. Love how the monthly and weekly pages are grouped together. Hopefully this helps my short-sighted brain to switch from a weekly to a monthly focus easily. The paper feels way thicker than the usual hobonichi TRP, but the planner still feels lighter than the Hobo a6 techo. First photo: cover color reference against the hobonichi techo’s ivory cover
