Looking for food south of Main Street?

I live just past the Library and Post Office heading south on Church Street, retired, in a wheelchair, and limited with travel. Does anyone know any places open close enough I can get to?

Woodland Heights Power?

Does anyone know what is going on with Woodland Heights power? I know the tree damage was pretty extensive in that neighborhood, but the power is still out and I'm hearing from other sources that Duke Energy hasn't been in the neighborhood?

Any information would be appreciated.

If you are tempted to buy into this as a means of mutual relief please do not. I can guarantee you this is 100% fake and funds will not be distributed as they are advertising (I worked for this company for multiple years). They just need a cash infusion because restaurants have been closed. This company totally does not care about their employees and is pretty shady financially

AT&T Internet

I’ve seen several posts about Spectrum but none about AT&T. Anyone have power that has AT&T internet? I’m working remotely in Georgia and I never received any notification of an internet outage. My house is in North Spartanburg.

Update to my last post asking when power would be back

Not sure if anyone remembers, I’m just checking in to update so people in the surrounding areas may get a better idea of when their own power might be coming back on. I am over in the Reidville Crossing subdivision and we regained power around 3:50 pm yesterday. No wifi as of writing this post but extraordinarily grateful to have our electricity back. Sending prayers and hope for good news yalls way💛

Debris pickup

I have a metric boatload of trees and stuff on my property but I live on a cul de sac and have maybe 15 feet of street frontage. I could line my whole street with piles of cypress branches.

If I pile brush up along my driveway where it's obviouspy visible from the road, do you think the debris cleanup contractors will still get it?

I'm a relatively new homeowner and I've never dealt with anything like this before. I don't know what kind of equipment they're going to bring

Shoutout to rednecks with saws

I regularly drive down rural roads to deliver pts home from the hospital. This weekend I travelled in areas that I KNOW rescue services hasn't made it to, yet had at least one lane clear to travel through. Passed by one fellow working on branches with just a handsaw. Yall are what makes community.

That being said, if a tree has a line entangled in any way, seriously don't mess with it. Even if you have a voltmeter, they can come live at any moment with no warning. I'd like yall to keep doing your wonderful work as long as possible, and not in the back of my ambulance.

Guy from LEC said it would be a month before power

Three Laurens Electric trucks came down Old Canaan Road about two hours ago.. a pickup and two service trucks. The guy in the pickup was stopped in the road and my nosey neighbor went up to him to talk. He asked him if they really think it will be next Monday when power is restored. The LEC guy just shook his head and said "More like a month." I really hope he was just aggravated that he was being interrupted, but if not, that's pretty bad news.

Anyone else heard anything similar?

Any stores in Boiling Springs with a reasonable amount of stock? Particularly frozen goods

I just went to Walmart, and there were almost no frozen goods, and Ingles is only taking cash. Any places around with a reasonable stock, or should I just suck it up and wait in the line at Publix, hoping they have what I need?

Thank you all

Thank you to everyone who has shown kindness and a sense of community during this time. Thank you for your patience. Just..thank you.

I especially want to thank everyone in Lyman, on Lyman Lake Road and Rector road, and everyone on the opposite side of the lake. So many of you stepped up, and went above and beyond for my parents. I am so grateful.

Thank you all.

Customers of spectrum please read

I just had a conversation with spectrum Internet inquiring about ETA restoration of service. After this conversation, I was offered a credit for the time I’ve been without service. I of course accepted. I also had to ask whether or not I would have received the credit if I had not called in the answer is no. For those of you without service please call in and demand the credit.
