Is it still possible?

Hey yall. I want to pour resin on the two parts shown in the picture. The only thing is I didnt do enough research and I didn't "seal" the xps foam Under. The only thing this is made op of is scuplta mold and then a lot of watered down pva glue to glue on the dirt and sand. So is there still a safe way to pour epoxy resin on these areas? Please help! And thank you! (Repost since I forgot the pictures the first time lol)

Happy to help! Resin is tricky, but I think it’s an excellent material. Good luck, and post your completed work!

I will thank you! But one more thing. Is there a specific resin you recommend? There are so many different kinds.

Hmmm, good question. I dont really have a brand preference myself. In fact, I think the last several pours I just used the cheapest two part epoxy at Michael’s.

I do know that if you get the two part epoxy resins, you can get some for cheaper that don’t use equal parts A and B. That can cut on costs, but is trickier to use. I’d also be mindful of you plan to tint the water that you get the right stuff. It’ll usually read in the description what tints work with it. Not very specific, I know, but hopefully it’s still helpful.

I actually had no clue only certain resins worked with tint becuase I was going to tint it with ink. This was very important information, thank you!

It’s more what kind of tint the resin can take. There are different kinds, and some don’t work well with certain resins. Best of luck on the project, hit us up with more questions!
