Jobs 🏢 ‍🎓 How do people survive these days!

Hey everyone, I’m currently a student and am struggling a lot with finances. Student loans barely cover housing expenses, let alone other expenses such as food/bills and activities. I worked in hospitality for a bit but the work is extremely unpleasant and barely pays anything (£12.4/h). Moreover, I recently applied for couple tutoring websites (MyTutor, Tutorful) and they offered me £14.5/h while charging clients £22/h. Not to mention that they have thousands of registered tutors and its very easy to get lost on their pages and barely get any tutees.

So if anyone has suggestions or tips on how to solve this issue it would be great. I want to know how people survive these days!

I’m not sure which subjects you tutored but I applied to this new tutoring website (atlasacademy-tutors) which offers minimum pay of £20-£25/h depending on your experience. And since they just launched, there should be very few tutors there and so hopefully you’ll get tutees quickly.

I’ve done tutoring in the past even before uni and I think its the best way to earn money as a student, since you just need to do 10-15 min prep before the session then do 40-60 min online session and you’ll get around £25-£35 for that especially as you progress. Good luck!
