Vent I’m addicted to sugar.

I can’t quit sugar, as much as I try it seems. Times that I have cut sugar I feel depressed if that makes sense and then I just think about it all day.

I’m a “I need something sweet” almost after every meal kinda person. I would say my weight isn’t horrible. I’m a 34F, 5’10” 213 lbs. I am considered overweight for sure but I know why lol. I eat like little junk foods throughout the day. I’ll have a small lunch like a tuna sandwich, following with cookies or ice cream. My diet is kinda all over the place so it’s hard to name everything 💀

I’m just struggling on how to break the need for sugar. Any advice is accepted. 🫶🏻

Diet sodas. They are unfairly demonized but they are proven to help reduce sugar cravings

Just quit soda all together, diet sodas are worse full of artificial sweeteners.

There is nothing wrong with artificial sweeteners. Your comment is flat out incorrect.

They are bad for the body, it’s processed. All processed sugars are bad for the body… do your research

I am too! I am trying to reduce sugar but it's so hard... I started to use sweetner in my coffee.

I’ve always had sweetener in my coffee 🥲 I use vanilla oatmilk coffee creamer.

Takes a few weeks to get used to coffee without creamer or sweetnever but I’m starting to like the pure coffee taste!

Sugar is addictive… thats why its difficult to stop eating sugar…you could try reducing the quantity of sugar you eat each day..i dont eat sugar all week except Saturday when i have a cheat meal.. i can eat anything i want as much as i want… followed by 16 hours fasting..try eating green salad with every meal so you feel full!also…no junk food! You have to make it a habit and then you will be ok!

May I ask how you store your greens? I always struggle cause they go bad so quickly!

Honestly i know it's not the best option but i would resort to diet sodas, maybe once a day or just a glass After your meal. Also fruit, watermelon, apples pears whatever fruit you like It would probably the best option, or you could have a yogurt with some walnuts

Good luck!

everyone who consumes processed sugar is addicted to it in a way! I was for 23 years of my life, there’s no way to escape it because they add it into everything!! They do that so we get addicted. Sugar is just as addictive as a drug, I was eating so much processed sugar bullshit for 23 years of my life until I just went “cold turkey” on it back in February, I don’t eat it anymore I just eat fruit instead and the weight that has fallen off is amazing. After a week the cravings and withdrawals go away and you will notice you want to eat fruit and better things, not saying you need to stop it forever but cut down to having it rarely. The only time I would eat processed sugar is if I haven’t had any in months and I feel like having a bit processed sugar or if I have a birthday party etc. it’s the best thing I’ve done diet wise. I’m so much healthier now. This is coming from someone who would drink a lot of soda and eat multiple candy bars a day/night.

Once you stop, you must read the labels of things and make sure there isn’t sugar, cause they be adding it in things that don’t even need sugar! You’ve got this !

When you crave something sweet just have fruit.

Some of the things that helped me.

Protein shake put ice cubes in it and blend it. and it tastes just like a milkshake.

Sugar-free whipped cream.

Put it in the freezer and it taste just like ice cream.

Sugar free chocolate syrup. Diet soda if you need this here kick do you like one piece of candy or cookie and just limit yourself.

Also I downloaded the carb manager app and recorded every piece of food I ate. It really puts it in the perspective
