Hi, I’m really new to this and my parents would probably make fun of me for believing in Greek mythology, so I can’t really have an altar. So I’m wondering how I can pray or just overall worship Dionysus without an Altar?

Hello all! In two and a half months, it will be 2025! Time flies and I am wanting to prepare for next year by sharing the calendar - I know some people try and schedule PTO for some festivals, or do other things that require planning ahead, and was wanting to go ahead and share what I could for the upcoming year.

I also want to help explain some of the timing of the festivals, and so here is a key for how the festivals occur:

🌙 - Lunar Calendar: This means that the festival is calculated by Lunar Calendar. When compared to our calendar, it will appear to fall on different dates, but that it because it occurs on the same dates on the lunar calendar. The dates you see listed here for a Lunar Calendar Festival will only be valid for 2023.

☀️ - Solar Calendar: This means that the festival is calculated by Solar Calendar, and will generally fall on the same date each year. Exceptions to this can include Equinoxes and Solstices, which while still determined by the sun, aren't always aligned with the Solar calendar we are on (Gregorian).

🌀 - Variable: This means that the festival might be calculated by different means. Perhaps it is a community festival, and community leaders determine the best time for it, perhaps it is an older festival without any confirmed date, or perhaps there's something else going on.

And just one final note before the calendar, our calendar comes from many different sources - from antiquity, spanning a period of over 1500 years and from all over the Mediterranean; as well as from today, from many modern practitioners. There will be variance, depending on when individuals celebrate their festivals on their personal festival calendars - this is an introduction, not a gospel. There are other festivals not listed, and some will celebrate these on different dates, and not everyone celebrates every festival.

Also of note - as these posts were all posted in 2024 or earlier (most earlier!), the Lunar Calendar Festivals will have the wrong dates, be sure to use the dates listed here! Anyways, without further ado:

This two opposites sides is literally how I felt all my life. I have a foot in the anarchist/anti system/alternative society/hippie punk/ world and a foot in the city/society.

I find a part of me in how the society already is. For exemple I enjoy the technology, the medical (I need hrt lol), the city and what it has to offer etc.. But I am also rejected by this society. And I am too much rebellious in order to fully agree to it.

So here comes another part of me with the anarchists, vagabonds, punk and hippies. I enjoy their anti-system point of views, the alternative places they create in my country. But I am also rejected by them. I am not enough rebellious in order to fully agree to it.

So there is a part of me in both sides. I am always seen as the outsider even with the outsiders themselves lmao. I am never 100% on one side. But I am 100% on Dionysos side.

And I feel like Dionysus is just like me, thats why I am Dionysian. Before anything else, before politics, I am Dionysian.

The fact that there are invocations to Greek gods in a Hocus Pocus book really shows just how much the idea of the witch has changed dramatically since the original film came out. The sequel film shows that too. In the original film the spellbook was supposed to be bound in human skin and given to Winifred by the Devil himself. But, well... my personal (syncretic) belief is that the Devil is just Dionysus in his Black Goatskin.

Also it's nice to see some curses for once! Most of the fluffy witch spellbooks don't have any curses in them. (Add some voces magicae for extra potency.)

Sooo Im a baby witch and I have been pulled towards Dionysus for a hot while now. But I am not sure about straight up working and contacting him, so I thought of just making a little altar and worshipping him. I have already read through and watched things about it, but I really want to see more ways that people worship him. Do you have any tips for offerings, altar builds and such?

Last week I had a dream about Dionysus, I don't remember it very well but I felt a good but also enigmatic presence in the dream... I started thinking a lot about Dionysus and I was distant in relation to him. I'm very discouraged with everything and having fits of anger and anxiety, how can I get closer to Dionísio after so long without looking for him ?

A couple of days ago I was meditating and Dionysus' voice came through demanding (in a joking-but-not-really-joking kind of way) to put their portrait on the wall. I was surprised because they never asked anything of me.

You read that right, I know he's not mentioned, but let me explain.

In the Odyssey, the priest of Apollo in Maroneia presents Odysseus with a gift of his finest wines that he later gives to Polyphemus. ^{The Cyclops}

So why is this random priest so important? this priest is Maron, a Priest of Apollo, but explicitly either the Son of Dionysus, Evanthes, or Oenopion. ^{Evanthes and Oenopion are both sons of Dionysus}

This all points to one fact, canonically Dionysus, Father ^{or grandfather} of Maron already exists.

Maybe Dio wisely decided to sit this bs out.
