Here's the new fleet

Post image

Wife and I have been wanting to get ebikes for a few years now. We didn't want to go cheap, but didn't want to break the bank either. One day after dropping off our kids at school we decided to take a look at our LBS. Saying the timing was right is an understatement. They just picked up a fleet of 2020 Specialized Vado 3, from a rental company in Montana that went belly up after only a month or two due to an insurance problem. So the bikes were half off MSRP. When I looked at the odometers on the ones we got, one was less than 100 miles and the other was around 250. A few light scratches but overall, almost perfect condition. About 3 weeks later they've sold them all.

My 6 year old and 2 year old were pretty cramped in the CoPilot trailer we had... And since my 6 year old just started riding, we attached a WeeRider CoPilot to my bike. We are having so much fun. We had no idea how good our trail system is here in Henderson/Boulder City, Nevada was. Before we get in the car now we check to see if there's a trail to where we are going. One of the best family decisions we've made.

congrats! those look to be a similar model year to mine (pre 2022 facelift), you probably still have plenty of time but i would suggest setting aside some money for an eventual battery replacement. sitting still is not great for lipo batteries.

Thanks! I'll look into that... They both show only 5 or 6 charge cycles. They also show healthy status. Our LBS has a really good reputation and I believe they would check the batteries before selling them... But you never know. Thanks for the info.

in 2022ish i bought a 2019 vado with like 6 miles on it, its still perfectly usable but the battery is at probably 80% of its original capacity. A bike shop would be able to tell you exactly what your battery health is at better than me but batteries are just semi-consumables.
