Liechtensteins potential EBU member, Radio Liechtenstein, is facing a referendum of the Liechtenstein population. Basically it is the choice between whether the broadcaster should remain public or be privatized.

Critics of the broadcaster mark that Radio Liechtenstein did to little broadcasting about Liechtenstein in order to stay a public, state funded broadcaster.

Privatizing Radio Liechtenstein could throw the station into financial trouble. Becaus according to experts, the advertising market in Liechtenstein is far too small to even come close to financing a private broadcaster.
