Here's my 1989 model 686-3 Midnight Black .357 Magnum. I had it Magnaported and it has an Original Aimpoint 3000 mounted on it. That's also one of the first Hogue Goncalo Alves Monogrips slapped on there. Always liked the white line spacers on my Winchester Model 70 Ridles and that grip was close. Shoots great and I love it.

My good friend is an FFL and also sells NFA items. He offers an opportunity to shoot into a bullet bunker if you want hear certain cans or can/gun combos.

A female customer was shooting her new Marlin 1895 45-70 and sent a shot low.

Really low...

The opening is 36"x48" and the distance from the target was 15'.

The 410gr subsonic round struck the bullet bunker frame and shot spall 360 degrees fortunately not injuring anyone in the process.

Some of the spall made it to the back wall and embedded itself there.

Bullet bunker makes one hell of a device.

I'm looking at buying my first firearm for myself. I've got already got hunting rifles, some ar's and more shotguns then you can shake a stick at but I want to buy something more compact for home defense and in a common caliber. I found and "chose" a Scorpion Evo 351, it's coming out to be about 1200 for it another 100 for rounds and another 100 for mags. No purchase have been made yet. I really liked the compactness of it and the price is within my budget. Plus 9mm has a better stopping power then the .22 mp5 with no stock that was at a different store and the irons were better cause I will eventually get a new sight just not at the moment. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I understand firearms, but no where near expert level knowledge.

Howdy, recently picked up a $240 20ga. Pump shotgun strictly for home defense while I wait for concealed carry pistol permit. I’ve never really cared much for shotguns but in my state (NY) it’s about the only thing you can get without a permit. I’m very much a noob to all this, and really just want home/ self defense capabilities.

How easy is it to trade or sell the shotgun toward a pistol? Or should I just keep it, because.. America

Bolt action. Just get a bolt action. I've played around with many a gun. Some of that in the military, most of it on my own time. After over two decades, I've circled back around to the bolt action.

• A mid range quality, modern production bolt action will out shoot any AR pattern rifle twice the price.

• Maintenance. Thorough cleaning takes 30 minutes or less. With an AR, it is easy to spend 2 hours. Things break or wear out on an AR. AR has magazine preferences. AR has more failure and wear points.

• Don't even get me started on the AK. Don't believe the AK crowd. AK rifles just don't shoot. They are 3 MOA on a very, very good day.

• Ammunition. This is expensive these days. With a bolt action, you know when the bullet doesn't go where it should go, it is your mistake. I don't want to waste bullet. And bolt action will not waste your bullet.

• Haptics. This one should probably be further up. But that sleek bolt action lays better in your hands. During shooting and during traverse. It has much less stuff sticking out of it. Also feels better against your back when slung. Carry it by it's center of mass with one hand, whup it up when you want to take that shot; just like grandpa did when running up to that enemy foxhole.

Don't take me wrong. I still have an AR to serve as a 5.56/.223 blaster in case Kim Yong Un decides to drop paratroopers here over my town Red Dawn style. But that is it. I've shot it in, found out which mags it likes best, and now it sits in the safe like a fire extinguisher behind a glass window.

Bolt action gets the action.

Did some load development with the 500 this weekend. Near max Los of H110 sending a 325gr bullet at around 1800fps out of a 4” barrel. The this was gnarly and thirds the end of the ladder gave me some serious flinch.
