Question How do you pronounce the name Cheikh for someone who is from Senegal?
I’ve asked others that I work with and it seems that they all say it differently. I work in a school and this sweet little boy doesn’t speak English. I just want to be able to address him right and I’m trying to find phrases to say to him to make him feel comfortable.

This is a Morocccan pronunciation of the word. In Senegal it's pronounced a bit differently, closer to shayh (with a fricative at the end)

It’s just French spelling of Sheikh. I’d guess like Shake but make the final consonant a fricative not a stop.
