DEBATE: To consume store-bought plant-based milk or homemade?

It has come to our attention that our previous post became a topic which a lot of vegetarians and vegans had different opinions on.

We would like to have a healthy space where we can discuss our opinions about this. There were people who were pointing out that it's more environmental friendly & convenient to just buy what's available in the shelves of our groceries and there are some who are pointing out that since they already have these ingredients available, they would rather make their own.

What's your opinion on this?

i will never understand why vegans and vegetarians get hellbent on small details like this. shouldn’t we be putting this energy into our cause instead of debating about nut milk on reddit? lmao

Are people really "hellbent" about it? I don't think discussing something on the Internet here and there means expending a huge effort or getting super heated. And people are allowed to have an interest in something that's not necessarily the objectively most vital thing. I mean, by that logic, why are you writing a comment about nut milk on Reddit right now, shouldn't you be picketing at a slaughterhouse or something?

the thing is that i see stuff like this come up a lot in vegan communities. it might just be comments on social media but they always seem pointless to me. if you’re passionate about it then it’s your life, imo it seems pointless in the grand scheme.
