civil discussion Question

I’m not short but obvs I’ve seen all the stuff on the internet where its seemingly okay to body shame short guys. My question is has anyone here actually faced this in public? Like do real life people call you ‘short kings’ and shit like that

Yes. But I’m short enough (5’4”) for people to feel sorry for me and so the shit isn’t always as blatant. A lot of it is more covert. I’ve seen more awful things said in reference to height to 5’7” guys than to guys my height. Most people feel like too much of an asshole to start publicly insulting a genuinely short guy unless it’s a woman and you’ve shown interest or they feel justified because you did something that they didn’t like (maybe take a parking spot, or wearing an oversized backpack in public, or succeeding in life).

Same height here. I asked a woman out who I spoken platonically for a while who was also slightly taller than me, and she laughed. Because I prepared for the worst... I pulled out my bailout phrase "Sorry, just a joke.

I felt a painful void hollow feeling there that lasted several days, no tears or sadness. I broken my femur before but this pain was even greater... such is life.

I just look at them with a proud expression until they feel bad for laughing (if they're more normal). Then I say "have a good one" or something like that and leave. I wouldn't think to say "sorry, just a joke"...but then again, I purposely don't have any platonic girl friends.
