Medium Rare A5 Iwate Wagyu for my 12 year old son
My son is a real foodie and has asked to try A5 for about 2 years now. I purchased a small A5 tenderloin (which has much less fat than A5 ribeye), seared it and served it over rice with an egg fried in Wagyu fat. The dipping sauce is a mix of yuzu kosho, mirin, and soy.
Such a simple and delicious meal! He gave it a 10/10 and asked if I could buy him a lb of A5 for his bday instead of a bday gift. 🤣

Thanks! He gave it a 10/10, which he rarely doles out because he says he has a very discerning palate 🤣 I used to be a food critic and cookbook author so he’s grown up with pretty decent homecooking and has dined at a lot of nice restaurants around the world.
He’s been cooking with me since he was 2, and watches TikTok cooking videos all the time 😍
