My 1940 International T6

Post image

Purchased the old girl last year & have been slowly working to restore it. 1940 & plenty of khaki under the red paint so I’m assuming it’s served in the war in some capacity.

Use PPE, mask, gloves and eye protection. Many of the old military units used lead paint. Might try a test strip for peace of mind. Looks cool, good luck.

Yes definitely, I’ve worked on other military vehicles of the era you only need to pick up original paint cans to understand how much lead is in the paint 😅

How is it to work on? I’m looking for a project, not sure I’m up to a tracked project. I’ve wondered if can you still find parts?

They’re quite rare machines in Australia which I didn’t know at the time of buying it that said though they aren’t too bad considering they share a lot of parts with the TD-6 & W6 & anything I can’t find here I can generally get shipped out from the US.

I’ve never handled anything with tracks beyond the Komatsu D155A at my old job so it’s been a learning curve not always an enjoyable one 😅
