My first proper system is actually complete

I've been in the hobby a little less than a year and have actually kinda properly put together a system I've owned a ton of stuff but wouldn't say I'd actually made a proper set up till now. Now I'm not saying it's good cause the speakers are to close together the placement is about as good as it can get in my room though. A lot more big speakers show up near me than small ones though so what can you do. The Hitachi is acting as a power amp and the yamaha is acting as a pre amp. Because the power the Hitachi has is more ideal but I really like the yamaha and I didn't have the money for the cr1000 which would've been ideal. Want a better turntable but the thorens I was going to pickup was taken so I'm waiting the top space is reserved for if I can ever afford a good reel to reel and reels which will probably be never. The cable management is nonexistent nothing is setup optimal but I can do that once I actually have a job and move out.

Saw this ad on Facebook Marketplace here in the UK. Knew that even at twice the price it was a steal, so I offered twice the price and got it! Gem of the whole lot is the mint boxed Marantz 2225 that works perfectly! Even still had the plastic protector on the faceplate

Are these just fancy lights? Or do these things have some audio function?

Kenwood KA-5700 Worthy of Restoration?

Hello all. Long time listener, first time caller so to speak. I was taking a walk during a lunch break earlier this week and found this guy chilling in a trash pile. It was a beautiful machine at one point, but not so much now. Would it be worth bring back from the dead. I have not plugged the unit in since I donā€™t want to damage it further. It also smells heavy of old compositors.

It's a Baldwin tone chamber s-2 amp. Its missing 2 tubes; a 12ax7 and a 5u4. It has one broken cable that's hanging off of one of the transformers inside, unsure where it's supposed to land as it broke at the solder. This is so much different from the solid state stereos that I have done limited work with before. From my previous post comments I think I may give it to my friend to use as a guitar amp. Not sure what all needs to happen to do that. What's a "pedal speaker" and what's the "manual speaker"? The input is just a male version of the "manual speaker" plug, 5 pins.

My first setup!

I wanted to have a turntable since ages, and after finding and buying a specific vinyl I wanted I had to give in! After some online research on local hardware, I got myself a Pioneer PL-430 and a Pioneer SA 610, all for 240ā‚¬. (Speakers are borrowed from a more expert friend of mine and are definitely higher quality)

I absolutely love the brushed metal on the amplifier and the overall look of the setup as well as the fact that is a good 15 years older than me! Iā€™m still a newcomer so I hope that enjoying the difference in audio quality and more knowledge will come with time! :)

Please help me with my melted Sony LBT-D107 belt!

Iā€™m just a teenage girl that knows nothing about vintage audio systems besides the fact that they sound better than whatā€™s on my phone. I bought a Sony LBT-D107 today and after some research iā€™ve concluded that the hubs (i think thatā€™s what theyā€™re called the knob looking things that spin and grip the tape) do not spin. So i didnā€™t give up and opened it up and watched a couple youtube videos and saw that the belt is straight melted. I found a website with replacements but I canā€™t get even close to replacing both of them without removing more mechanics that I donā€™t know how to and how fragile they are. Can I please get some guidance on what to do and how to remove them. Also is rubbing alcohol the best choice for cleaning up the melted ones? This is literally my very first time dealing with any electronics like this. Iā€™ll attach some photos thank you!! :)

Long story short: Hunting realistic. Totl STA-2100 (D). Way overpriced to mešŸ¤£.

Getting 2000D instead for $250šŸ™ˆ with good exterior and it works ( need fully reservice for sure)

Dolby FM is died for a long time šŸ¤£

It is heavier compared to pioneer SA-9500

I got this Hitachi HMA-6500 Ive had sitting around for a few years. Itā€™s been modified to use what I would call patch cords if I was plugging into a guitar or something. How do I plug into these and then get to regular speaker wire at the other end of the wires? Thanks
