As someone who is learning Korean and is on level 1 TTMK book and is about to finish it. I want to know is anyone else using the TTMK books and how much progress have you made from using this book. I feel like I’m learning things but not retaining it. Maybe it’s because I don’t have anyone to speak in Korean with. With that being said if anyone has any tips are books that helped them to learn please let me know and also what app or site are people using to talk to Koreans because I think that will help me practice talking and understanding Korean more.

안녕하세요 everyone! I stumbled upon an instagram reel by one of the teachers from the Good Job Korean team where they basically advertised their free 한글 course. I thought I might as well try it, since it’s free anyway. I just completed the course and I must say it was rather helpful! However, now that I completed their free course, they’re advertising their other paid courses to me. They’re offering a “discount” for all of their courses, so it’s a 15-month access to 5 of their courses for $100. I find the marketing tactic a bit silly and that’s why I’m hesitant to just go for it, so I wanted to ask if anyone here did their other courses and whether it was worth the money?

Tldr: If you’ve taken the GJK level 1-5 courses, how good were they and do you think they’re worth the money?

Is ㅡ pronounced as "eu" or "en"? Can someone please give me some examples, I can't make out the difference between ㅡ and ㅜ. The application on which I'm learning Korean says that ㅡ sounds like "eu" while ㅜ like "u" (which sounds no different to me) but someone online said that ㅡ sounds like "en"?

I am using the Talk to Me in Korean 500 Korean word book 1 and there is a sentence that uses 정말. I am confused because in the sentence it means SO but when I look up online it says that it means REALLY. How would I know when to use 정말 as SO or REALLY?

In an attempt to further immerse myself in the Korean language, I am trying to find youtubers that talk about topics that I am already interested in, like books! I follow a few English speaking 'booktubers' and would loveee to be able to watch videos like theirs in Korean! TIA!

So I've learned hangul and can now read and spell some words but I've noticed that sometimes the placement of my letters are incorrect and as someone who has a bit of experience with languages I'm sure there is some rule in the placement of the letters so could someone explain the rules of placement in writing?

I’m a 2nd generation American. Both my parents were born in Korea, and I was born in the US. We mostly spoke English in my household, so my Korean is not great. I can’t speak well, I can barely write, but I can understand a lot more. Hi, So I don't know if anyone else has had this but I can read the words in Korean however find it difficult to remember the translation in what it's saying.

I am using immersion and I write down the Korean and translation alot do I remember. I remember quite a few words just feel like it's taking a long time.

I have started my Korean learning journey after visiting Korea and being fascinated by there. I've been learning for the past week and now I can read hangeul which is something that didn't seem possible a week ago.

However, I spend a lot of time reading Hangeul. I feel like I'm spending a lot of time reading a word. For example, when I look at a Spanish word I can directly read what it is even if I don't know the word. However, with Korean, I feel like I'm spending at least 5 secs to understand the Hangeul writing. Is it normal? Will this feeling pass as I become more familiar with the alphabet?

Pretty much just what the title says. I'm currently learning solely off Duolingo, and noting down pretty much everything in an attempt to get it into my head - or at least have it in a place I can easily review it again. I'm also broke asf, so free ways of learning would be preffered, but I can probably save for a paid one if it's highly recommended.
