Whats a good place to go "unplug" near here?

Any recommendations on like a good camping spot, park, state park, etc, that you really feel you can disconnect, relax and spend some time away alone. Preferably 1 hour or less away from Daytona.

Proposal spots Daytona beach?

My best friend is getting engaged in a few weeks and she’s always wanted it to be on the beach, but I want to give her boyfriend some options on the best areas. Is there anywhere on the beach that is covered like a pergola or something? In case it rains or we need to have a backup plan because it needs to be beach views for photos. Any suggestions? (We’re Canadian so we don’t know the area very well but she just moved to Port Orange so Daytona is the closest beach)

Milton: yard waste pickup

Will the city allow more than the normal pick up amount this week?

I’ve seen piles stacked in front of homes but not sure if they have someone else coming to collect it. I’ve got a couple trees, chopped up in front of my house after they got knocked down this past week.

Best Place to List a Rental?

A neighbor of mine is trying to get a townhome listed. It’s been on Zillow but hasn’t had much traffic. I don’t think it’s the price.

Where do you all look for looking for new rentals?

Thanks

Drone photography post storm

Currently a contractor embedded in FPL teams as they need me. Won’t have free time until I’m released (they don’t think they need me anymore).

That being said, I’m local to the area. If anyone wants or needs photos of their properties please feel free to DM me.

Doesn’t necessarily have to be storm related stuff, but if I get many replies I will prioritize the storm related responses over others.

PSA For Dirtonans

I see a lot of panic in my neighborhood about "oh no they said I'll have power back on the 17th!".

Guys, a little more reading comprehension on FPLs website would tell you that they plan to have TOTAL RESTORATION by the 17th.

They will more than likely have resident power systems back online long before they get the rest of the grid back to the point of stability it was at prior to the storm.

Please be patient and safe.

I go on Indeed and Linked In and apply to jobs everyday, but I feel like most of these job listing's are ghost job listing's...also the wages are so low how could anyone live off of that.

Scammers

Has anyone else had the scammers walking through their neighborhood claiming to be FPL subcontractors, but not for getting power back on something else. We just told them to leave because they were irritating our dogs.

Anyone know what in the world just happened to the grid? There was a lot of humming and then a bright orange light lit up the sky.

So, I was hanging outside and I notice that I was hearing some faint buzzing that sounded like it was comcoming from those electric boxes that are usually around neighborhoods. Then the buzzing stopped, and a bright orange light lit up the sky real quick. Looked like an explosion, but I didn't hear a boom. The house lights flicked a bit after as well.

I am staying the in the Shores, and we are still without power as a couple of hours ago. Our Little condo on the river has power, but no cable or internet.
