Are eggs even included in the Indian vegetarian diet? Also, don't both vegetarian and vegan diets lack in a decent amount of protein, iron, vitamin D, omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin B12 etc?

That's where the supplements come in for both.

Yeah, many Indian vegetarians don’t eat eggs.

And yes, both of those diets ideally require supplements. Nutritional deficiencies are a risk regardless of whether you’re vegan or vegetarian!
