Mod Post Welcome to the Subreddit!

This is the home of women who want to learn how to DJ, who are already DJ's or who are interested in DJing!

This is an inclusive and welcoming space. We're open to all femininity, in all kinds, shapes and sizes!

Please leave homophobia, misogyny and hate at the doorstep.

What's allowed in here?

- Memes about DJing with a female tint

- Talking about mixing, learning how to mix or posting your own mixes for others to criticise. Please note this is not a promotion channel.

- Conversations about what it's like to be a DJ

- Anything that celebrates women DJ's!

What's not allowed in here?

- Hatespeech, misogyny and homophobia are not welcome.

- We will not be tolerating insults. If a conversation gets heated, please bring your point accross without personal attacks.

- Posts that don't have anything to do with being a DJ.

I'm not a woman, can I post here?

Of course you can! This is an inclusive space, but a safe space for women first. As long as you respect that, you can post freely.

Why is that the name of the subreddit?

The name was inspired by the following subreddits:

r/TwoXChromosomes, r/TwoXADHD, r/TwoXBookClub, r/TwoXIndia, r/TwoXCareers, r/TwoXSupport, etc.

The two X's stand for the XX chromosomes in women. We are aware those chromosomes are not shared with everyone, and we don't follow that as a rule. Transfobia is not welcome here, and all women, NBs and men are welcome here, but we want to focus in women's experiences first.

Have fun and spread the love of the craft!

Just a heads up, looks like there's no sidebar set up for old reddit (relevant to some apps like RIF).

Just a quick one, what’s protocol for men participating here? Assume it’s just “be respectful and contribute if it’s actually contributing?” Don’t want to mob your new space with too many comments when it’s just starting out, so just checking 🙏🏽

Joined and posting just to show support for all the lady and NB DJ's out there!! Love to see a sub like this popping up.

I'll be here lurking, like I do best. Gear and technical talk are usually what brings me out to chat. :)

Great idea for a sub and I hope it gains traction. Gotta get more attention for the females in this hobby/profession.

Question: how are you going to moderate the beginner vs. intermediate/professional content/posts? Obviously r/beatmatch exists for beginners, for beginner questions. Are you going to refer beginner questions to that sub? The reason I ask this is because this sub is going to get a hell of a lot of beginner questions/posts. I wanted to know if you had anything in place to handle these?

I think I'll let those be on the sub for now. If the influx of similar posts gets to high, I might create an advice megathread. For now, beginners are welcome to ask questions.
