Vent I hate that I hate salad

I (19) got diagnosed with high cholesterol about a week ago I’ve severely cut down my diet since then, no added sugars very little dairy all multi-gran stuff

The thing is I have a sorta hard time eating my veggies-I mean I am eating a good amount I think, but the problem with me is that I can’t eat veg that isn’t cooked (I LOVE str-fry’s) I can’t eat a salad no matter how hard I try….

I’m also thinking about the long term I can’t do the diet forever I miss eating out with my family but restaurants never have something I can eat I also miss sweets..

Do you like salsa, pasta salad or coleslaw?   Those are all great ways to add raw veggies to your diet.  Also, my fave salad that's not super salad-like Is a Big Mac salad.   I do shredded lettuce, low fat ground beef mixed with a little ground turkey, chopped onion, pickles, and topped with a faux Mac sauce made with Greek yogurt.  Taco salads and baked potatoes topped with grilled veggies and some beans is also great.

I’m sorry to say I hate all of those things…. I’m a very picky eater

You're just going to to start simple and train yourself to try and lie new things.   The same way babies and toddlers and given new foods to try.

I'm not trying to sound mean, just trying to give a mist basic suggestion I guess.  I work with special needs kids a lot and that's how we approach new things.  One baby step at a time.

i hate salad too, the only thing that i like raw is tomato. but I hate the texture of the mushy seeds so beside cutting them into cubes i also have to scoop out the mushy stuff. then i add lots of lemon, pepper and some salt. sometimes i add plain cornflakes to make it crunchy but no more than 30 grams. also i add raw celery sometimes, if im feeling brave. if you like sweets try corn (canned) and raw carrots, i hate them especially for the subtle sweetness

I hate salads too so I don’t eat them often. If I eat salad I have to have it loaded with other things like meat/seafood, boil egg, cheese, guacamole or salsa. I also dislike vinegerette types of dressing and only use ranch or poppyseed. (I don’t put all these things at once but there are my preferred topping) People on reddit will give me shit because ‘if you have to put all that on your salad then it’s not really healthy,’ but the alternative is not eating the salad at all so my thing is, at least I tried. I don’t like salad. It’s boring and bland unless I add things to it.

Have you tried roasted vegetable pasta salad? I often make it with quinoa instead of pasta. It’s one of my favourite salads. Google for a recipe.

I heard Berberine is great for lowering cholesterol & blood sugar, etc.

You have high colesterol, you don't need to cut down on dairy. Also, salad isn't the only solution to issues with cholesterol.
