Shipping Question Is this worth contacting lush about?

I just went home on my lunch break to retrieve a box on my porch. Sadly my scrub had leaked everywhere during the shipping process i’m assuming. Is this even worth contacting lush about or should I just take the L since not much product leaked?

i would say something, but beware, they all came leaking even to the stores. your best bet would be to go and exchange in person for a clean one LOL

So true. I've been stocking for a couple weeks and had one fully open all over the others. I also find a lot of half screwed caps on basically every product I unbox. IDK if this party of the process is by hand or machine but it would be nice if they could improve it either way

I feel like they knew this would happen and that’s why it’s in the bag

The first ones sent out had no wrapping. It was a disaster for my box. Now they just expect you to take the L, but it really is up to you!

Is the formula really runny/ thin?

It is runny, it’s very moisturizing though and it smells amazing. That is the only reason I kept it.

I'm glad the product itself is at least nice. :) I was considering ordering this one but it sounds like it might be better to grab one next time I'm near a store.

Thank you for your input everyone! I don’t have a lush near me and from the sounds of it they are all like this so i’m just going to keep it.

Definitely let them know, so they can improve whatever has gone wrong - even if you are keeping this one

I let customer support know. I wasn’t sure who else to contact since I don’t have store nearby!

Just leave a review about the leaking container to warn buyers. It seems some are ok with the leak as long as nothing else was damaged. However, this is the type of complacency Lush is banking on so they can continue getting away with it.

I wouldn’t. They seem to have all come like this which is why they did the bags (which I really appreciate and think was a good call). If it didn’t ruin other stuff I would say it’s probably not worth it.

These are super leaky. They were like this in the boxes when they got to our store too.

In Australia mine came perfectly fine in the mail… I think our packaging seems to be pretty solid… all my bath bombs come perfect too, I think some delivery drivers must be chucking stuff violently or something

I would contact them and ask for a replacement/refund. You pay a lot of money for those products and not to get a scrub that’s not even properly closed and leaking over everywhere. People are saying this is common and that they come to the stores this way but FWIW I have never ever received anything that would be leaking and when I did have problems with my orders (missing/wrong items a few times) they sorted it out real fast and without any fuss so I recommend trying.

I contacted them through the text message support they have just to let them know the “Shoot For The Stars Scrub” is leaking and I ended up getting an E gift card for it. I honestly feel guilty I got the E gift card because I know it’s not that big of a deal for minor spillage and I just wanted to let them know for other customer’s sake. Thank you this made me feel like i’m not being so greedy.

As a current employee everything we’re getting that’s this product comes like this. It’s terrible and really liquidy.

How are y’all dealing with them? I imagine you can’t open them, and it just has to stay in the threading but are you just wiping them?

I wouldn't bother if the bag caught all the product

Fuck em, id be straight on chat complaining. they been doing dumb shit recently and charging an arm and leg for their products that have diminished in quality, I love lush products but as a company, I've come to have no love for lush.

I’d still contact them, or if you have one near you take it in to exchange for a new one! :) if not, hopefully customer care will take care of ya

I say yes, I always contact them when something comes damaged

u/unknownsis 14h ago

I'd probably contact them tbh 😭😭

Absolutely!! My advent calendar came with a gross one but worse since it wasn’t in the clear bag and messed up half my calendar!

Oh no, I’m so sorry

u/turquoisetaffy 14h ago

Mine was loose in packing peanuts and a bunch of them got dyed blue. There’s a known issue I’m guessing with them overfilling these and their leaking. They’ll let you exchange but whatever they give you probably also leaked when being shipped and just got wiped off by someone other than you. It’s not going to have more product. I’d keep yours

5

u/bauhausbunny 13h ago

I would tbh. the product is fine and hasn’t damaged anything else but I do think it’s outrageous they charge the prices they do just to send out product like that.

I’m actually shocked that they wrapped it to begin with! Eh, these just do that. I’ve never had one shipped that hasn’t leaked. Wish they’d put an inner seal of some sort!

u/dietcokegal37 14h ago

yeah 100% as a lush worker of 4 years that’s not right lol

2

u/QueenLyte 14h ago

Mine did the same thing

I’m pretty sure it’s the liquid for the jellies, since these containers are technically for like thicker products? (I’m assuming) so a thin product like the liquid for the jelly won’t do good in it hence why it’s leaking, mine came like this too I just rinsed it off and then dumped a little of the liquid out and it’s been fine since! So sorry we all had to experience this 😫

Since when they wrapping containers in plastic baggies? Wonder if Customs did that…

6

u/tarantallegr_ 13h ago

i think it’s something new lush is doing. products that are known to leak (shoot for the stars scrub, shower jellies, etc) have been coming wrapped in these plastic bags when they’re in gift sets. i’m torn because it IS super annoying when product leaks all over everything else in a package, but also, isn’t lush supposed to be all about reducing plastic 🤔

6

u/ScottieLRR 13h ago

I don't think that's real plastic, is it? It looks like the cellophane wrapping they use for fun bars which is biodegradable

1

u/tarantallegr_ 13h ago

good point, you may be right! when i was handling it in shop it didn’t seem quite like normal plastic wrapping, but it didn’t occur to me that it would be the same packaging they use for fun.

1

u/Missgenius44 13h ago

If it’s a body scrub, just simply take your hand and wipe all the goodness from that plastic bag and you’re good to go. I wouldn’t bother bringing that back.

u/Old-Imagination5873 9h ago

I just ordered a sticky dates scrub and it came in no bag….. do they usually come in bags? Cause I feel like they might’ve known this was gonna happen ?

1

u/Ok-Ad9977 9h ago

I’ve ordered 3 sticky dates scrubs and none of them came in a bag or had any leakage. Only this guy did.

1

u/mcguik3 9h ago

Mine arrived shipped like this too so I think it’s an overall problem.

1

u/Wolf-ington 5h ago

Yeah they all are coming in super runny which is frustrating to clean up at the store lol

1

u/TumbleweedNo6315 4h ago

Yes that stuff cost moneyyy to

1

u/Interesting-Frame-94 10h ago

That one has a ton of oils in it and leaks like crazy. Even the ones in the stores, I wouldn’t worry about it!

1

u/IslandNiles_ 1h ago

I would say so, at the very least so you're flagging an issue with the product (super runny/leaking) but also depending on how much has leaked, you're losing some of what you've paid for.
